First i have checked the Vic20 Gamebase, 236 not imported, was that the same in your case Lantz? All Games has 2048 Games, screenshots and covers are ok and memory expansion is filled in when needed.
Offcourse all games need to be checked

Offcourse all games need to be checked Yes, that's correct, it ignores all entries which does not have a working game file available. As suggested I can add a default game file that just shows a message that the game file is missing when starting it. Then all entries can be imported to the game manager. Is this something that more people like to have? For Gamebase64 for example it's very unlikely to find a working game file for an entry that doesn't have one, so having it in the game manager doesn't really make sense I think. I can perhaps add an option to include it or not in the import dialog, then you can choose.

Hmmm, i have 164 favorites imported from the Vic20 Gamebase but only 114 are shown in the Vic20 sections in total
I was looking for Gorf for example,,,, 2 Gorf games are both seen as C64 , that's why i noticed instantly.....
Trying again....
First importing The Vic20 Favorites.... all 164 favorites are shown correctly.(even Gorf)
Now importing the C64 favorites ,,,, 1344 favorites are shown correctly (even Gorf)
Now it seems ok, that's odd

Did you select "add as duplicate" when you imported? Otherwise it will skip the game if there already is one with the same title available. My guess is that you had "skip" selected the first time. When you import favorites and the game is skipped due to a duplicate entry the existing one will not be marked as favorite..

Its possible i did somthing wrong indeed
But now its all good .
Only thing i notice now is in the vic20 sections the information in the Composer section shows the memory config . no biggie
Now the only thing i need is a little adaptation for the Vic20 and C64 Demobases.(replace games text with demos for example and maybe a few screenshots with Demos or Demobase shown)

It will save me from having to create 250+ missing game dummy files and naming them. I would like to use this so all of gamebase is imported as a more modern gamebase and have a filter / list I can afor missing games so I can track them down. Thanks for 1.5.1 this will save me some config time ;-) Best regards, Ian

I was wondering.. Where you click on the small button with the 3 dots on "..." next to "All Games" change that to Add gamelist not Add view cause your making a gamelist so you can copy the gamelist to a gamelist folder in PCU..?

Hi Lantz,
After i imported my favorites from GamebaseVic20 i had planned to test it out on TheVic20 just now.
All looks ok so far.
Jet pac ! nice ! Kwazy Kwaks is to much zoomed in, i almost cant see my gun so i'm missing a part of the underside of the screen, maybe this was the case before, dunno.
Then i scrolled to Outworld,,,but the screenshot was for Omega Race ? i tried to run it but now my Vic20 has frozen up.
Not a good start, rebooting......
Jungle Hunt has the Jetpac screenshot..... Moon patrol has the Metagalactic Lamas screenshot Ms pacman has the Mosquito screenahot
And more of this....
Something is not right, it's ok in GameManager though
When needed i can make a list of all faulty entries but it's only 166 favorites not al vic20 games i have exported
I have tried to run some of these faulty entries but then i just get the Vic20 basic screen
So its or a freeze or a basic screen with these entries

Sjakie, this happens in Carousel with a missing game image sometimes. Check you have readable game cover images in the correct size. I had this in a previous version when scraping was first introduced. My plan is to take the import and run tests exporting A*.* then B*.* etc. at the weekend Ian

If they are 16k cartridge games with a xxx.A0 and and xxx.60 file then they will be tricky. The best way round for these for now is to use Vice and load each part individually and soft reset if they do not autoload. Now save a snapshot and use that as the game file until such time as the ability to load multi part is added to Carousel and / or Game Manager.

Hi! I'm enjoying y brand new Maxi and PCU. I have but one question that's been bothering me, pretty sure it's been answered before, but not sure how to do a proper search of the topic on the forum:
- In many cases, loading up a game from the PCU will result in returning to the C64 original basic blue screen, as if the game would not load properly. I just need to repeat the launching procedure for it to work out! If I go to another game the same thing might happen. Second time the game will launch properly but not the first one.
Any thoughts? Thank you very much!

I was wondering.. Where you click on the small button with the 3 dots on "..." next to "All Games" change that to Add gamelist not Add view cause your making a gamelist so you can copy the gamelist to a gamelist folder in PCU..? I decided to not change this in PCU Game manager. The views are similar to what they are called in gamebase, a filtering of all the games available in the database. I also added a database field named "view tag" earlier where you can add tags to filter on, I would have to change the database column name not to have it show up as "View tag" in the UI, this is a too much work. Also, all games you add to a view isn't necessary to include in a PCU gamelist when you export it, since you can choose any games from any views during export. So there's no one-to-one mapping from a view in game manager and a gamelist in PCU, right?

you can also make an option where I the newly created view and copy games to the new view with ctrl c or something gr davy The game views does not work in that way, they are based on SQL querys towards the database, so the games that are included in a view must have someting in common (what you define in the filters). It's only for the favorites view (makring individual games as favorites with CTRL+F12) where you can choose exactly which games to be included.

New release: 1.6.0New features: - Multiple selection support in the game list. You can select multiple games with CTRL+click or SHIFT+click. Delete (CTRL+D) and mark/unmark favorite (CTRL+F12) works for multiple games at once.
- New option to include games that is missing an executable game file when importing from gamebase. A default Vice snapshot file file is used that shows a message "game file missing". They are also marked with the view tag "missing". This makes it possible to create a game view "viewtag contains missing" to easily filter them out in PCU Game Manager.

Ah ok, I asked cause the word game view to me is one game being viewed not a gamelist been viewed, making a game view don't sound right to me, I know you can grab any game from any view but your still when making a game view your making a gamelist, a set of games collected together from a to g or h to r, you have to have them in gamelist sets cause each gamelist screen on PCU can only hold 255 games. Would changing the title of the game view box("Add gamelist view") change the view tag, if you keep view in the name then you could still use it, in a tag...?

Lance, many thanks for this. I will re import Gamebase and test. I tested all the 0 and A games imported with 1.5.1 and found a common problem I think with Cartridge loading on the Vic20. Is there a way you can override how the game is loaded into Vice or does it always try and load the same way? Many of these failing to load will probably load with cartridge autostart mode. Some won't due to looking for ROM / write protected memory blocks. I will replace those with other versions. Please try an alternative method if possible with Arachnoid, Apple Panic, Artillery duel and Atlantis and let me know how it goes. Thanks Ian

Would changing the title of the game view box("Add gamelist view") change the view tag, if you keep view in the name then you could still use it, in a tag...? Ok, good idea, I'll rename it in the UI to say "gamelist view", and the "view tag" remains as-is.

Cool Beans... Just finished off the installers now using Winrar.. so now you can install it using its SFX or extract it with Winrar or 7zip.. just worked out how to add a shortcut to the desktop for PCU Game Manager so I can now start it from my desktop by it own icon.. so when you install PCUGM it will add a desktop icon lnk file for you.
