Lol - many thanks. No rush.
There are still games to add for Vic20 not in Gamebase but at 2000ish it is not such a large task as C64.

I guess the C64 Die hards will want to have ALL games imported
Even the very simple games will have sentimental value for a lot of people, By example Dr Psi , i'ts a very basic game but i had quite a laugh with it back in the day.(i think 1985 it was).
Well....it will be a nice challenge to get the whole collection in.
But my first computer was the Vic20, so i'm looking forward to see all Vic20 games in the Game Manager.

PCU Game Manager has PCU included now and has its own Windows Installer now, the full version, made with Advanced Installer.

In the root of what... USB Stick, no you need to put your drive letter in for your USB Stick, PCU Game Manager gets installed to C:\Game now and has a Windows Start Menu shortcut so run the install from your Download folder.

oh right I am sorting that out now, you will only see one file now, a exe file.
It took me 2 days to work out how Advance Installer works, I have used before but a long time a ago, like 10 years ago, I had to make 3 installs, 1. Project Carousel USB - AIO- PCUGM that installs PCU Game Manager, 2. Project Carousel USB - AIO- PCU for USB Stick inside PCU-AIO that starts after PCU Game Manager installs and installs PCU to a USB Stick and 3, Project Carousel USB - Standalone for USB.
Project Carousel USB - AIO- PCU for USB has no games included, Project Carousel USB - Standalone version does include the games.

This is crazy... Im almost finished with the gamebase import function, just need to test it a little more. Importing all games from gb64 took a while (about 45 minutes on my machine). There will be a release in a couple of days I think.

Wow, looks very nice Lantz
I'm curious how big this will be ......
How did you manage when games have no file but only an extra in GB (tap for example)?
Or when a game has a prg file and a tap or cart file ?

I guess you don't not have to, just add the games you want and lot are doubles anyway, You don't need every game on it, PCU Game Manager is there to store them when you want to add a game to PCU, that was the whole idea of PCU Game Manager, that what I wanted, a place where you can store games in a database and add them to PCU when I wanted too .. so if I don't want a game no more on PCU, I would just swap it with another game using PCU Game Manager, I only use the games that are in PCU anyway, most of the games there I have on cassette. I like alot of US Gold and Ocean games.. You can only add 255 games per screen anyway. BTW thanks.. Lantzelot for all the hard work your doing..

Yes Nick but you already prepared us for the capability with the flexible folders.
If you name them e.g.
C64_a1 C64_a2 C64_a3 C64_b1 C64_b2 Vic20_a1 Vic20_a2 etc.
then you can have unlimited capacity for all 10,000 plus C64 and all 2000 plus Vic20 games on PCU in an easy access system.
Many Many Thanks for a modern TheVic20 with Gamebase capability.

hi when i add a game to favorites then get disappears whatever I do it disappears It’s added, but it’s not marked as a favorite. If you switch to ”all games” you will find it. Then you can mark it as a favorite with CTRL+F12. The view is reloaded when you save a new game to sort it properly, but if the game isn’t part of the view it dissappears. I can add so that the game is marked as favorite if you have that view selected. Edit: I fixed so that the game is marked as favorite directly when you save it when you are in the favorites view. Will be part of the 1.5.0 release.

PCU Game Manager 1.5.0 is released now: 1.5.0- Manadatory fields for a game is now title, game file and one screenshot. Previously you also had to add a cover and two screenshots before saving the game.
- Two new "missing" cover files are used for missing covers, one for C64 and one for Vic-20 games.
- Support for multiple game entries with the same title. Covers, screens and game files get's a number suffix to avoid name collisions.
- New option to add a duplicate game entry when the title matches an existing game in the database during import.
- New menu option to reload current game view (shortcut: F5). Usefult if you want to sort the game list after adding a game.
- New import feature to import games from gamebase 64 or gamebase vic-20. More information is available in the wiki dokumentation.
Game view improvements: - Gamefile field is added to the filters when creating a game view to be able to filter on disk, tape or cartridge games.
- All description fields are added to the filters and the operators "is empty" and "is not empty" to be able to filter out games with missing descriptions.
- New UI field for a game: View tag. The view filter also contains this field. This can be used to create a custom view with games that does not match on the other fields. For example: GB64 contains over 1100 boulderdash clones. Some of them uses custom graphics. If you want to create a view with boulderdash games but only the ones using original graphics you can add a custom tag to the View tag field (e.g. boulder-og) for the ones you want and then create a view filter that only include the games with this tag available.
I have tested the gamebase import function with both Gamebase64 and gamebase Vic-20. If you find any bugs or problems post here.

Ok, that looks no good... There is another log file in the game manager directory (pcusb.log). Can you attach that also? it contains more information about why it can't read some files. Can you also attach the file "Paths.ini" from the folder where the gamebase vic-20 is installed?

Ok, I know what the problem is. I was a bit lazy and assumed that games, screenshots and extras are located in the same folder, as subfolders. But in your case you have an extra subfolder (D:\GameBase\Vic20_v03\Screenshots\Screenshots). I can fix so that it read all paths from Path.ini and uses those when copying files properly, then it does not matter how you have organized the gamebase folders. When it comes to memory expansion for Vic-20: Where is this information available in gamebase vic-20? I can't open the mdb file in Access 365, it says it's too old, so it's a bit had to figure out how things are stored... is it only flags on the file name that controls the memory expansion?

If you want Vic20 Gamebase or others go to bu22.com
To use gamebase you need to install game base and then unzip the Vic20 gamebase in the installed folder. Now unzip the screenshots, extras, games into a location you choose. Run gamebase - it will complain and run the toolbox Setup the paths to the screenshots, games and extras It will run after converting the database.
If you wait a few days I will have the Vic20 configured and share the database.
I ran the import and have 2247 games imported. Working through the memory configuration etc.

Lantzelot, many thanks for 1.5.0 this is fantastic.
I have 2247 imported I think and a few hundred failed.
Feature request 1 - could we put a dummy game in for items with no entry?
e.g.
10 PRINT "Your game is missing"
This is picked up every time a game is missing. This way all entries would import I think. (I saw an error "game mssing")
Feature request 2 - Please can you add fields for the extras? These are useful for instructions etc.
I know it is only useful in the Game Manager and not the Carousel but it would be great to have Game Manager as a single source companion.
I am working through getting games configured and running in Vice now.
Many Many thanks to you and Nick for making The Vic20 into The Complete Vic20

New release available with some fixes for the gamebase importer: 1.5.1- Paths.ini is read properly and paths for screenshots, extras and games are correct when copying files. Previously it assumed all folders for screenshots, covers and games where in the same parent folder.
- Fixed a bug when importing from GB64 where "vtde=yes" did not set true drive emulation correctly.
- Fixed a bug where game files where overwritten during import for games with very similar names (but not identical, e.g. "Last Ninja, The" and "Last Ninja , The")
- Memory banks for Vic-20 are set when importing games (a best effort is made, does not work 100%). Key-value pairs are read from the gb database and added to the description field so that all info for memory expansion is available.
- Games that are not zipped in gamebase are imported properly now, previously they was ignored.
