Can you give specific information how did you formatted the USB stick. I did not need to format mine but wini used disk part to format the USB Stick on windows 10, it shows you how under the link below "Restore Your USB Key to its original state" Maybe one of these will help.. You can use Mini Tools Partition Wizard(I use it all the time) to format USB Flash Drives and SD Cards. And info here on.. Restore Your USB Key to its original state

I noticed some users are having a problem with quoting another users posts, just do this.. type what you want to say in the Reply box below and once you have finished what you want to say, press Quote button on the top right of the user post and it will be added to you reply you just typed and then just press Create Post and that's it.. its easier that way..

Nick, trying your latest version with the two scripts that have modified dates, there still is the problem that the text on screen "F5 for Reset, F7 for X-Mod", is wrong. Also, on a regular C64Maxi the Reset does not work at all but crashes the Maxi into a state where you have to pull the USB power out, nothing else works. Maybe the "reboot" command simply is not possible and only works on your Frankenmaxi?
Thanks for all the work in putting this together!
Boris

It would help if you consistently change the PCU version number even after minor changes. That way you can be sure which actual PCU is used when discussing/reporting problems.

Maybe the "reboot" command simply is not possible and only works on your Frankenmaxi? Thanks for all the work in putting this together! Boris Oh and the Reboot don't work on mine too, even if mine is a copy of THEC64 Maxi, its exactly the same cause THEC64 Maxi main board is a Orange PI, it come up with "Orange PI" when you boot the Capcom Home Arcade in its terminal as its booting and the board is called a Orange PI too by users, THEC64 Maxi main board is the same as the CHA board, only difference is.. size of.. eMMC, Memory, CHA has Wifi and Network(if it had a RJ45 connector, Network cable would work) and able to add a SD card slot, both boards are exactly the same as each other, and CHA uses Buildroot 2019 and THEC64 Maxi uses Buildroot 2016, a older version so the firmware is almost identical too(but CHA does use different drivers in its firmware and uses a different driver for mail) and CHA source is available, I am looking into booting THEC64 Maxi Carousel on the CHA, I was even thinking of a way of putting PCU in it and all the files on the USB so if you plug PCU in the CHA USB port at the back when you turn on CHA, it boots into THEC64 Maxi and then it is a THEC64 Maxi.. They even share the USB ICs from THEC64 Red Joystick that came with the C64 Mini, that's what controls the joysticks when your playing CHA, that why the Joysticks from THEC64 Mini/Maxi(only the First Red Stick that came with the preorder THEC64 Mini and the Micro Switch joysticks works) work with the Capcom Home Arcade, it shears components, it cheaper to build it that way if you use parts that are already made. This is why we now have a Capcom Home Arcade section on the forum now, cause they both use the same main board and USB board with same ICs "GH001" from the THEC64 Joystick(both Joysticks on CHA have exactly 8 buttons like the C64 Joystick has) I posted this thinking someone might find it interesting..

Yes I fix the reboot... is CTRL F5.. In carousel-gamelist-selector.sh Before 8) echo "CTRL-F5 pressed, Rebooting THEC64" >/dev/ttyS0 sleep 1 reboot ;; After 8) echo "CTRL-F5 pressed, Rebooting THEC64" >/dev/ttyS0 sleep 1 sync reboot -f ;; I am making it sync before I forcing(-f) THEC64 to reboot instead of try just to reboot, if you can not be bothered to log out of X-windows Mod(cause your mouse is not connected) you can just press CTRL-F5 to come out of it... Have you downloaded THEC64 X-Windows Mod roofs.img, its not included...? thats why the zip file is about 500 mb now, so thats maybe why CTRL-F7 is rebooting too, it needs to be in /Carousel_Games/Options/x-windows_mod/ thec64community.online/thread/487/thec64-windows-modCTRL-F7 works fine for me and boots THEC64 X-Windows Mod, I wouldn't know any of this if it was not of jj0, hes a good teacher..

Sadly i can't make PCU_v1.18.1_Anniversary_Edition work.
Methods i tried: DiskPart Formatting USB sticks with Rufus Formatting USB sticks with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, V2.2.3
My C64 maxi just goes back to device settings when i apply the update and nothing happens.
I give up for now and stick with PCU-FUGS v1.17 which works like a charm.
Thank you for the great work with the PCU!

Hi all,
Same thing here unfortunately, 1.17 works with no issues at all and I have reverted back to that version for now. No matter what program I use to format the USB I am unable to get it to work. Also tried resetting the Maxi and tried different USB ports, plus different USB sticks ranging from 2G to 32G.
Very Grateful for your great work on the Carousel, like I say 1.17 works great without issue so I will enjoy that for the time being.
Jimmy

Hi Nick, just to let you know I had used one of my USB sticks as a windows 10 setup boot but I have other sticks I have tried too. Nothing seems to work But 1.17 will start nicely on every stick I have. Very strange. Did you at any time use it as a bootable USB Stick or is it a new USB Stick..? Can you try a different one..?

Did you at any time use it as a bootable USB Stick or is it a new USB Stick..? Can you try a different one..? I tested several USB sticks 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and none of them were bootable. PCU-FUGS v1.17 works just fine with every stick.

I wonder if a image file(.img) would work then, it would be a copy of mine that works so it should...? would you test for me..? You will have to use Win32DiskImager to copy it to your USB Stick but it will need to be 2GB size, I be uploading it to One Drive for now so users that can't get PCU working on the USB Stick can test it. I will need feedback to find out if it works or not. It will be a copy of my USB Stick.

Uploading PCUv1.18.1_Anniversary_Edition.img now.. please wait.. its 1.86 GB. Remember this is for USB Sticks that don't work with PCU as a zip file, so please test it on a USB Stick you know don't work only and report back if it works or not, Still uploading at the moment. Its still Uploading... 90% now...10% to go...

I have found a way of disabling and enabling Autoboooting PCU by using CTRL-M to Disable Autoboot and CTRL-N to Enable Autoboot, Autoboot is enable by default so thought this would be handy for applying a update from RGL... it has 2 scripts that the shortcut keys run, that basically changes, a name of a script in the boot folder from startpcu.sh(Autoboot enabled) to startpcu.sh.bak(Autoboot disabled) and back again.. but if you press the keys again the script will not run cause it only runs once and has a if else statement stops you run that part again, it will only run again once the name of the script is changed back, both script work the same. Here is the code that disabled Autobooting... echo "Checking if Autoboot is enabled..." >/dev/ttyS0 sleep 1 if [ ! -e /tmp/pcu/Carousel_Games/Options/boot/startuppcu.sh.bak ] then #mount -o remount,rw /tmp/pcu/ echo "Yes its enabled... disabling now....." >/dev/ttyS0 cd /tmp/pcu/Carousel_Games/Options/boot sleep 1 cp -f startuppcu.sh startuppcu.sh.bak 2>/dev/ttyS0 sleep 1 rm -f startuppcu.sh 2>/dev/ttyS0 echo "Done...all OK, Rebooting" >/dev/ttyS0 sleep 4 cd / sync reboot -f else echo "Yes, Autoboot is disabled already, all OK." >/dev/ttyS0 fi And add a way of enabling the Keyrah V1/V2 keyboard map by CTRL-B, so if I want to use my keyboard in basic or a game that needs it I just CTRL-B to enable it and the Carousel restarts.. a lot of the time I have it disabled in the script so it not enabled when I do a update of PCU, I would of used CTRL-K but K moves the yellow box on the Carousel left. That what coming soon, I thought I let you know what I was working on..
