Does this version of your fake firmware , let you attach a .CRT of a freezer cartridge and have you made a short cut so you can press the Freeze Button on the cartridge via the Maxi , ? Yeah, I believe Nick is using the version of c64emu-pcu.rgl containing the following shortcut keys: I think he also included the more experimental c64emu-4joy.rgl that allowed for 4-joystick games (e.g. shotgun, hockey mania), but you'd have to tweak your autostart.sh file to swap over to that version. If you do try it, be sure to create a .cjm file to describe the 3rd & 4th player's joystick mappings. E.g.: X:64,pal J:1*:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,RS,SP,SP,RS,F1,F7,RS J:2:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,RS,CM,SP,F1,F3,F5,RS J:3:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,RS,CM,SP,F1,F3,F5,RS J:4:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,RS,CM,SP,F1,F3,F5,RS

It now uploading to One Drive and Google Drive.. sorted out the Userport 4 ports(4 Joysticks) its now enabled, it can make your Keyboard shortcuts not work if you have 4 joysticks connected cause you have one connected in the USB port at the back of the THEC64 Maxi, you could try a USB Hub and connect it to THEC64 Maxi USBs at the side and see if that works, thec64community.online/post/5153/thread

All mirrors have now uploaded.. I have added Google Drive mirror cause I have a 1000 GB that I have never use, only for my phone and reports of the zip files getting corrupted, you can choose where to download it from now, it better to be save then sorry.. Enjoy, any problems post here... When PCUv1.18 gets released there will be only one version, cause you be able to change Carousel Gamelist Screens using a keyboard on THEC64 Mini and on THEC64 Maxi Keyboard.
PCU-FUGS will not be updated but will be there for a while but will be removed eventually but if you want it to stay in the download section, post a comment about it here please and if there enough interest I will keep it and change its name to PCUv1.17_for_THEC64 Mini, Let me know by posting below.. Thanks..
I have been working hard on the code to get this working properly, Hope you like it...

Do you know how I can copy this emulator to THEC64? To use it per default (i.e. without PCU)? Using the 'X-Windows Mod'? Because I cannot start "Project Carousel USB v 1.18 anniv. ed." (PCU) from USB stick automatically (black screen), only when I reboot (i.e. not power cycle) THEC64. Or when I do the fake update. And my joystick won't work properly when PCU has copied the file '/Carousel_Games/Options/boot/S95pcuboot' from USB stick to '/etc/init.d' on the NAND from THEC64. B.T.W. Do you know how I can set the emulator to show the full border? Just like when I set in Vice: "Settings > VIC-II settings > Border mode: Full (instead of Normal)"? My favorite game, Phoenix, has information all the way at the bottom of the lower border. And on THEC64 it doesn't show completely. Do you know where the settings file for Vice is on THEC64? P.S. I've run the X-Wndows Mod (XWM) from the other topic a few times to edit the joysick file. Maby that one left some config files behind that prevents PCU to start from USB stick automaticaly?

Also it has it's own "gamecontrollerdb.txt" file which caused my own controller to behave weird. Copied the "gamecontrollerdb.txt" (which I edited to have my als Joysick in there) from the C64 itself over to the SD card and now my controller works. I can even boot into Classic Mode that way (just choose 'Boot: classic mode' in The C64's menu). I hope I can find out how to speed up the boor process. It takes a long time for a black screen to appear and then I have to press CTRL + 2. Do you happen to know where THEC64 keeps it config file so I can choose to see the full border instead of a (slightly) cropped one?

Found where the emulator is that THEC64 uses. It's in /usr/lib. I backed the orig. up and replaced it w/ the one from PCU. I'm happy now.

Oh, regarding slow usb stick experiences, I remember having one old usb stick I'd used in the past that was veeery slow. I was a low-sized one, maybe 100 or so MB. I suspect it was due to being a USB1 device and so didnt have the faster speeds of a USB2/3 device <shrug>

Is any of you running theC64 Maxi at 60hz or a THEC64 Mini NTSC Model, cause I set the Carousel in PCU to 50hz cause I was getting a black screen cause it wanted 60hz, I am sorting that out now. Look out for PCUv1.18.1 later today.

Share your gamecontrollerdb.txt and I can update the one in PCU and it will always work with your Controller...? It's the "9 Pin Joystick to USB Adapter" from Monster Joysticks ( link website). One uses that to connect classic controllers (from the Atari and Commodore) to USB. In another topic I described how I found out w/ help from people on this forum how I determined the line that one has to add to gamecontrollerdb.txt. It's: 03000000c0160000dc27000001010000,Monster Joysticks MJ2DB9,a:b1,b:b4,back:b6,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,leftshoulder:b0,rightshoulder:b5,start:b7,x:b3,y:b2,platform:Linux,
The complete gamecontrollerdb.txt file is attached to this reply. P.S. Sometimes I have to reboot my The C64 for it to work. Because sometimes the Joystick does do "things", but the axis mapping appears to be wrong...

I tried to update my C64 Maxi with PCU_v1.18.1_Anniversary_Edition, but when i press apply the update it just goes back to device settings screen and won't update the firmware.
Is there something wrong with this update or am i doing something wrong?
PCU v1.12 works just fine.

1.18.1 works fine on my original PAL C64 Maxi in C64 PAL Mode, in both the sideways and the back USB port. Booting without the stick also brings back the classic menu.
BUT: CTRL-F5 does not reboot but start X-Windows Mod, CTRL-F7 crashes the C64 Maxi completely, even Power Off will not work, you have to pull the plug. Did not modify ANY of the files yet. (If these are the wrong keys - well, these are the keys shown on screen in the carousel...)

Got my USB Stick 2 GB working with PCU... , Make sure your USB Stick is not marked bootable, PCU will not work on bootable USB Sticks/SD Cards, that means if you used it to boot a OS or make a Bootable USB Stick with it, you have to unmark it as bootable first to be able to use it with PCU. Try a SD card a 32GB and 4 GB works and make sure it has not been set as Bootable. If you can connect your THEC64 to Uart and post its output as you try to boot PCU then I might be able to help you, I can't see what's going on or boot into X Windows Mod and use terminal in it, you can sort it out in that, you can then sort out your USB Stick, XWM can be on the same USB stick and the boot XWM and then do what I posted above in XWM, or use Linux to sort it, its not working for a reason cause it should work so its down to the USB Flash Drive your using, it not down to PCU, it not working cause there something wrong with the USB Flash Drive.
I tested it on my THEC64 Mini I EU version and it works fine, so it the USB Stick your using, you have to just find the one that works with PCU.
Its using a loop device and on some USB sticks it calculating the size of it wrong so it can't read the USB Stick so can't boot PCU.
Sorted out the Reboot F5 and XWM F7 out now, Not to sure if reboot work properly... Uploaded.. still the same version, never changed it.
PCUv1.18 uses a loop device so the Carousel works with USB File Loader and Media Access, If I remove it then they will not work and they will not see the USB Flash Drive.

I put the shortcuts back to how they were originally, cause I would of had to change the Games info Pages were its say "You are in PCU now.....Press CTRL-F5 for Reboot and CTRL-F7 for THEC64 X-Windows Mod" I am glad it working now.. told you it was your USB Stick.. THEC64 X-Windows Mod is not included, you need to download its rootft.img and put into /carousel games/options/x-windows mod/ folder otherwise CTRL-F7 will just restart the Carousel.
