Awesome work done here man, thanks for ur efforts, and great to see you showcasing it all in the vid :-) PS. Good effort on pronouncing my name, you got pretty close, which surprised me! :-D You can hear the proper pronounciation via this google translate link. Finally got the FUGS Version to Load.Had to Change from Loading Favs to "0-G".But now games don't Load Or Run & it CRASHES when moving Left from GRIDRUNNER To Next Game. Also crashes when moving Right on Action Biker To Next Game. Soooooo Weird. Gonna try Smaller,Better FD,see if that helps any. Hi I had similar crash-problems when scrolling left or right, when some of the pics was corrupted while copying to usb-stick. Re-copying pics of games nearby crash ( /covers and /screens ) worked for me. Maybe I also have unreliable usb memory....

Big thanks to Gurce and Span for SID swap option. Now 8580 SID sounds great.
Unfortunately often there is some issue with sound when I'm quiting game with SID8580 enabled and starting it again from the carousel. Sometimes sound is very distorted so I need to swap SID again.

I removed PCU-BGS and FUGS and got One Drive to upload them again just incase One Drive has corrupted them.
There uploading again now.
I think it might corrupting them when it sync them so if I change something or add something to the zip file.
I made a backup of them on my other drive just incase cause One Drive has done this before.

Update..
Release date...
New Name..
PCUv.1.18 Anniversary EditionPCUv1.18 will be release on October 9th 2020, exactly 2 years from when THEC64 Mini was released in the United State, on its second Anniversary.. .. 6 days to go and it looking more likely now.. everything is sliping into place and everything is working well and as it should, so far .. so good. I think this release fits it perfectly cause it includes the first version of the Carousel, oh almost forgot, Ye Olde Carousel v1.0.5(thanks jj0 for the name... ) can hold 300 games per Carousel Gamelist Screen too.. I upped it in its source code so it could hold more games.. I was going to do just 226 but I thought what the hell, why not... another 74 slots would not hurt.
Got FIBR working, you don't need to run CBM File Browser first.. I have made a usb_sd2iec folder inside FIBR folder that is linked to the extragames folder on the root of the usb stick(when Ye Olde Carousel v1.0.5 loads FIBR, your in the FIBR folder already), you can now load FIBR and go into the usb_sd2iec folder to get to the SID player now or any .prg file or load a game from a directory if you want to from there, alot easier.. When you load Ye Olde Carousel v1.0.5.. you have to make sure your in Carousel Gamelist Screen Favorites cause it will not mount the usb_sd2iec folder if your not. Its looking real nice, the Carousel.. Thats Ye Olde Carousel v1.0.5(2018), it never had a USB File Loader at first, so it can't load from USB. You can still load CBM File Browser if you like, it will still be included, it in the FIBR folder.(fb64.prg in picture)and in extragames folder too, thats linked to the usb_sd2iec folder.. I bet you thought you never see FIBR again, remember when it was all we could use to load games on the THEC64 Mini in 2018... that was Ye Ole Carousel v1.0.5, we have now v1.3.2. Carousel Gamelist Screen Favorites is the only screen that will have its games set up differently, each game will have its own folder with the folders name named after its tsg file, I have had them like this for a while now and they work fine, and load OK, you will not be able to use TheC64 Maxi Game Tool with it, this is one of the reasons why FIBR works.. Anyway.. enjoy your day...

Great work! A question: I guess you can configure it to not autoload at boot? Will it still work to start it with the fake update in that case? If you do it like that, will you be able to access the USB from the file loader in the same way as in 1.16 or is that not possible anymore?

If you do it like that, will you be able to access the USB from the file loader in the same way as in 1.16 or is that not possible anymore? There is a readme in Carousel_Games/Options/boot folder... Yes you have to boot PCU for the first time with the update included, after that it will boot up automatically when you turn on THEC64 Maxi/Mini so you can boot it by update or at startup automatically. You can only change Carousel Gamelist screens by the keys only now. New version up in dev folder for testers.. PCU_v1.18_Anniversary_Edition.zip .. TheC64 X-Windows Mod should work now by Pressing CTRL-F7... please test it and see if it works ok for you..? and FIBR is in there now and working.. I have included TheC64 X-Windows Mod rootfs.img with it so you can test it, it a bit bigger but be will be removed when its released.

Unfortunately often there is some issue with sound when I'm quiting game with SID8580 enabled and starting it again from the carousel. Sometimes sound is very distorted so I need to swap SID again. Yeah, I experienced this too from time to time. When I added the "hot-swap" ability for the SIDs, I noticed that the VICE emulator does not hot-swap by default. It just alters the internal setting so that it can take effect on the next restart. So I decided to be a little cheeky and force it to hot-swap. So while I can't say for sure, but I suspect that hot-swapping in this fashion can have consequences on the audio that's currently playing. If it occasionally does, I tend to swap back and forth until it sounds nice again, or try a restart like you did.

Hi Gurce. Thanks for response. Yes - swapping again it's the best and quicker solution to avoid that issue.
What you think about selecting SID8580 in tsg files for games for Carousel - is there a chance that this option will actually work in future?
Best Regards, Lukasz

Best Regards, Lukasz We would need the source code for the Carousel v1.3.2, we only have v1.0.5, the old source, hopefully maybe in the future but at the moment we don't know, I built the old source that why Ye Olde Carousel v1.0.5 ... will be included with PCU v1.18.

Hey Span, Thanks for clarification about that. So you think that if I will switch to that older Carousel 1.0.5 when 1.18 version will be released, then games, which has SID8580 enabled in tsg file will be played with SID8580 automaticaly?
Best Regards, Lukasz

I wanted also to mention about some good thing - earlier, when played Comaland demo on SID6581 then during moment of playing hardsynth tune on screen with prompt about swapping disk, there was frameskipping and sound breaking (emulation performance was not 100%). But now when playing Comaland demo on SID8580 then whole demo is played perfectly - even on thec64 Mini.
Great job guys!

Best Regards, Lukasz No v1.0.5 can't do that, I don't know how to add that to it yet, I tiring to learn bits of C# code not all, some I do understand, but some I don't. In V1.0.5 you can see the USB directory using FIBR and it can hold more games, 300 games slots.

I've pondered the possibility of adding extra fields into the .tsg or .cjm files a little before. Even though we don't have the latest Carousel source, one idea I had was that we could instead parse the .cjm/.tsg file from within the emulator instead and detect those extra fields there. I didn't get a chance to try it yet. I'm presently struggling to devise a way to get a simple bash-like terminal to run and display within the emulator, proving to be much harder than I thought :-)

CCS64 emulator can do that, I think its menus are all in the c64 emulator, thats the one thing I like about it... www.ccs64.com/ it was made when it was on DOS, its looks better than the VICE text Menu. It was the first C64 emulator I used.

Yeah, I also found the ccs64 interface to be very clean and intuitive.
By comparison, while VICE has more features and capabilities, all the options are presented to the user in a very cluttered manner. Complicating things more, is that there seem to be many different takes on the interface (the sdl way, the mac way, the xwindows way, the gtk way, etc). So just when you feel like you've mastered one of them, you jump to another and are baffled at where to find things :-)

Just got a Keyrah V2 for THEC64 Maxi and it works like the V1 but some of the keys where * and Arrow up are, are not the same keys so I have to make a new VKM(VICE Keyboard Map) for the Keyrah V2, its nice to press a key and it works.. Thanks Amiga Kit.. amigakit.amiga.store/

I need help... I would like to add some more VIC20 games to the CGS VIC-20 screen, if you have added them already to your Carousel Gamelist Screen VIC20, can you share them please, I need them before the 9th October, send me them via a message not on here, thanks. I find them very awkward to added cause you have to use the VICE emulator to make the snapshots, then you do have to worry about the memory the game needs. I don't need 225 games btw, only about 20 to 30 games will do..

I can confirm, a couple of files are password protected. Because of that I will not try out this version as I do not know if that has anything vital. @spannernick Can you check the ZIP file?

Oh, I have some memories of bumping into password issues in the past too, but I think some unzippers handled it better than others. E.g. I tried some bog-standard unzip tool on my macbook and it didn't work, but when I extracted it with 7zip, it worked <shrug>. Don't know if it will help in your case, but just thought I'd share what I experienced in the past.
