I'm using Project Carousel but not sure if this problem is with it or just the regular firmware. When I go to load some games from the carousel it will bomb out to basic and just sit at the Ready Prompt. If I go back to the carousel and retry the same game it will then boot properly. I think this hasn't just happened with some 64 games but also with a few Vic 20 games too. Vaguely I think I remember from back in the day that this might be caused by fast loaders in conflict with each other, such as a game's own fast loader not liking jiffy dos or the Epyx fast loader?
Also, sometimes when I power up the Maxi it will just show a black screen. I'm using a 2.4amp power supply at the moment but I doubt that little bit less of amps matters. I think the Maxi came with a 2.5amp power supply but I'm using that on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ at the moment. Nothing else plugged into the Maxi other than a 32 gig USB 3.0 stick and the stock joystick, and I'm not using a USB hub.

Look here... thec64community.online/thread/790/pcuae-problem-starting-games-firstAll the games I added to carousel in PCUAE work on my machine thats a PAL Machine, so some games that are PAL do not work the first time you run them on a NTSC machine, it happens as well if you run a NTSC game on the Carousel on a PAL Machine, you have to run it twice.

That's got to be the problem then because I don't have it set up for PAL. Probably also why Arkanoid moves the paddle so fast with a joystick to the point of being unplayable. I'll change it to Pal. Thanks...
