When you Export all games in the list you have to click on each one(that's a lot if there over 200 games), you need to add a button for Select all so the whole list is selected. In the export dialog you can use ctrl+A to select all, or shift-click or ctrl-click to select multiple ones. So no need for a separate button I think... Another tip: in the lists you can start typing a game name to jump to a specific game. For example, type: "bea" to go to "beach head".

I got another thing I wonder if someone could test... I cannot do it right now... Right now the game manager saves the screenshots with the size they have when you add them in the tool. If that size is something other than 320x200 it seems that the maxi game tool will not show them. Does this work in PCU on a Maxi or mini or must the screenshots always be in 320x200 format?
I can fix so that the screenshots always are resized to 320x200 when saving a game to avoid this problem in the maxi game tool, just wondering if it's a "real" problem or if it's the maxi game tool that doesn't handle it.

Hi lantzelot, yes it is a real issue on the TheVic20. Scraping an image larger than 320x200 does save in the tool with a warning displayed. Closing and reloading removes the warning and it looks fine but is not. Exporting these images larger than 320x200 results in a failure to display and the Carousel displays images from game -1 and game -2 OR game +1 and Game +2 depending on which way you scrolled to your game with the incorrectly sized images. Resizing the image in the correct aspect in IRFANVIEW resulted in 320x160 and this also fails to display. Resizing to 320x200 by turning off aspect ratio and it works and displays ok. My current workaround is to scrape, export then redo the images in the exported folder to 320x200 before copying to the USB. Best regards, Ian

Thanks, then it makes no sense to keep the original image size. I have changed so that the attached screenshots are resized to 320x200 when the game is saved. Before that you will have the option to crop it. The crop function now cuts out a 320x200 rectangle in the center of the image. For a C64 image that means that the border is removed. For larger images (Vic-20 or other formats) the cropping will be centered which will work much better than before. If you don't crop it the image will be a bit blurry when resized. I will do a 1.0.3 release soon, just need to fix a few other bugs first.

PCU game Manager version 1.0.3 is released, a number of bug fixes: 1.0.3- Adds Vice button to launch Vice with the system settings specified
in the settings section. - Allows for saving a game when changing casing of the title
- Screenshots are resized when saving to 320x200.
- Crop a screenshot always crops the center of the image.
- Vic-20 screenshots are scaled better when added.
- When editing fields the cursor stays in the right position all the time.
- Year field is a spinner now where only valid values are 1978-2021.
- Help menu item is now directed to the wiki on the github site. Help information has been updated: Help info

Thank you. This is working great.
I tried this with scraping Star Defence for the Vic20 and the scaling and cropping works but is not great for this game.
N.B. this could be because it is an expanded screen game.
Could the crop window be displayed and moveable?

For larger screenshots you will be able to select a larger rectangle (same ratio as 320x200) which will be resized to 320x200 when you save the game. I hope this will be sufficient for Vic-20 screenshots, what do you think?

I'm thinking about adding language support to the tool, tabs for different languages for the description field. Is anyone interested in that? Does PCU support different languages or does it always use english?
I'm currently working on a scraper for c64.com. It's progressing nicely.

That would be awesome, especially if you just prepopulate all languages with the english text if there is no other. Otherwise THEC64 will show no text at all when set to another language. This is independent of PCU, it's the carousel that looks for text in the langauge the machine is set too. Thanks for all your awesome work!

I only when with English cause thats what the Game Tool only supported, its would be a good idea if PCU could show other languages in the games, I did translate the CGS game slot but didn't think it was any good cause of the Game Tool was only in English so dropped it..

This tool is a great idea, really looking forward to using it. However importing games is not working for me with version 1.0.3, no matter which directory in the hierarchy I choose, it keeps telling me it doesn't have the correct carroussel structure, even though it is what I'm using on my The VIC-20. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a specific way to get this to work?

Look under ”importing games”, there you see the structure the tool expects. It’s the same structure the different game folders have in Project carousel USB.

PCU Game Manager 1.1.0 is released: 1.1.0
New stuff: - Adds two new scraper sites: gb64.com and c64.com. From both it's possible to download game files directly.
- System model is set based on scraped game from MobyGames.com (C64 or VIC-20)
- Adds option to manually crop a screenshot by moving the rectangle to crop. Useful for Vic-20 screenshots.
- Adds a "Clear all favorites" menu option if you like to do so.
- Adds CTRL + S shortcut for saving a game.
Please try out the new scraper sites. I also updated the help documentation a bit with info about the scrapers. To upgrade you just need to download the PcuGameManager.exe and replace it in your installation.

You have to be in the actual gamelist folder so in Carousel_Games/Games/0 to G/ folder then you can import the games in that folder into PCU Game Manager, its looking for the games folder thats in 0 to G folder.

I was thinking, can you get PCU Game Manager to be able to delete and edit the games in PCUAE itself, it can only import and export the games into or from the database. Otherwise you have to use THEC64 Maxi Game tool to delete the games you want to remove from PCUAE, I just realised this..?
Or does the exporter see what files are there and removes the ones that's not on the gamelist your exporting in the games folder, if there's games in the folder already..?

Hi lantzelot and congratulations on your great project which fits perfectly with Nick's work. I mistakenly asked Nick in the PCU Main Topic if he could insert an option similar to the one you wrote in your post. Having set the interface in Italian at the moment I am forced to open the ".tsg" file generated by PCU Game Manager and copy the content of the description in English into the Italian field to see it appear correctly in the carousel. I think it would be a very useful option for all "no english" users who want descriptions in their language.

Thanks Megabit, I'm glad you like the PCU Game manager. I will look into the language support now, I will include it in a 1.2.0 release in a couple of days I hope.

No, nothing is deleted right now, the games that you export are just added to the folder you choose. I could perhaps add an option to delete all games in the folder you export to before adding the games you have selected if you like. It's not really built for being able to edit games directly in a folder, since it uses the database. But perhaps it's enough if you can choose to delete all existing games when you export?

One more thing... can you add a option to copy the games via export, exporting them without making the games folder there put in, I ask cause I have just added Carousel USB Folder Chooser to PCUAE, thec64community.online/thread/511/carousel-usb-folder-chooser It shows the games folders in Carousel_Games/Games/ folder on one screen but you have to put the games in 0_to_G folder itself not 0_to_G/games. So its like this... Maybe you could add a tick box for exporting games into games folder so you can just untick it so it exports them without making the games folder. Here is a video of Carousel USB Folder Chooser working in PCUAE, I finally got it working in it.. When I am finished you be able to add your own gamelists to it.. by adding a folder to Carousel_Games/Games and exporting the games you want to that folder using PCU Game Manager, and can add as many Carousel Gamelist folders as you want, whatever folder you put in there the Chooser program will see it and add it but the games have to be put in like how the Maxi Game Tool adds them so not like favourites is added, cause it has to grab the screenshots from the screens folder, thats what you see in each gamelist box, screenshots of the games in that folder and have to be in the games folder, in 0_to_G not 0_to_G/games. This way you can add your own gamelists and not have to rely on me making them for you, you can then add games to PCUAE that you want, you could add folders A to Z to it. ...
It will still have the gamelists that come with it. You can use the joystick to move the red box around and then press fire to pick a Carousel Gamelist. 1drv.ms/v/s!AsiWKsjhQ2jehLN1imKZzmE9ztHrGA?e=hSC5yf

I changed the export dialog a little to add extra options for deleting any existing games and if a games subfolder is used or not: When deleting it will only delete .tsg files and covers, screens and games directories, so if there are any other files in the export folder they will be kept. Do we still need the format where each game has it's own folder?

I have renamed the gamelists now in PCUAE, you just put a folder in there and name it what you like and it will show that name in the Chooser program. The games are still the same inside the folder, in 0 to G gamelist.
It only shows the gamelist if there's games in the folder, there's no Z_Firmware_Games added to it cause it don't have any games in it.

I wonder if I can remove that option if it's not needed anymore?
