What i do have i a request Lantz. I noticed some sid options in your Game manager and i was hoping that you are willing to add the Options for stereo sid?($DE00 is the most used option as far as i know)
Let me know what you think please . I am preparing some D64 Sidplayer disks(compilations) and i would also like to prepare some Disks with stereo sid)
I'm not familiar with stereo sid... How does that work, and is that supported by the carousel in some way? Do you have some more information about it? For Lanz... (tested with A Nightmare On Elm Street.d81)You can add D81 games in the Carousel but they are too big to be put into a gz file, it makes the Carousel crash(Segmentation Fault)just as it tries to unzip the gz file with the d81 in, its properly to big to unzip, the carousel unzips the gz game file first in its tmp folder then runs the game from there, if you add the game to the TSG file as F:games/ANIGHTMAREONELMSTRE.d81 so it not compressed it works fine. You need to add a way of adding D81 files not compressed and as a .d81 extension. If you make a snapshot of the game(D81), that does not work as well, when you run the snapshot VSF file it can not find the D81 disk so comes up with disk error, properly the D81 file corrupts the VSF File cause the disk is too big to be added to a VSF file. The game - A Nightmare On Elm Street, thats added to PCUAE at the moment don't work cause its a vsf.gz file and a copy of the D81 image and it can not find the D81 disk image to load the rest of the game, so all you hear is the music at the beginning then you press space or fire and it stops the music and does nothing.

Ok, I can check the file ending to the file added for a game and if it ends with "D81" the game manager can avoid zipping it. I'll look into that for the next release.

New release with some minor changes: 1.7.4- Adds a field for "view tag" to import dialog so that you can add a custom tag for imported games (e.g. "demo" or "intro" if you import from introbase/demobase).
- .d81, .prg and .p00 files are not compressed when added to the game manager.
Tip: Gamebase 64 version 17 is out (the site has already been updated, offline version is probably available soon), so now you can import a lot of new games

Hi,
When restoring a backup i get this error, what does it mean ?
It seems this occurs if there are sub-directories in the games folder. It's not breaking anything, all files are restored properly. It's probably because of some earlier bugs in the gamebase importer, where subdirecories where created when importing games with some specific file names. These are faulty, there should not be any subdirectories at all. I suggest you run the gamebase importer again to get everything imported correctly. If you want to start clean you can delete the covers, games and screens directories and also the pcusb.db file. They will be created again once you start the game manager, with an empty database. I will fix so that the error does not appear if a subdirectory is available in the next release.

where can you dowload v17 ? Nowhere yet, but it will probably be posted on the Lemon forums once available. It usually takes a few weeks after the update to the gb64 site.

Video of VICE Mode and Linux Mode coming in PCUAE v1.4.4.
To disable CTRL Key has now changed, It does not use the CTRL key now, it was to slow disabling the CTRL Key, you press the Commodore Key(THEC64 Key) and /(slash) or ? for 1 second to disable the CTRL Key, I used slash key cause its one of the keys that do not have other characters on it.

The reason this is needed is so that Vice can operate fully as a C64 or Vic20 without causing a machine change to e.g. PET when trying to change cursor colour to e.g. Black with CTRL+1

Ive been trying to get some clear good screen shots of the games to add to my collection, by using print screen when Vice is running then cropping them and then resizing but they are no way as good as the ones RGL use, how do i make clear not blurred images 320 x 200 ?? I`ve been using paint shop pro and Microsoft paint.

IIRC the screenshots will be in a subdirectory of the .THEC64SAVE directory on the USB drive.

Try irfanview you can batch process with it as well. Cannor remember how effective resampling was but I think it can do that.

Hi Lantz,
I have noticed with C64 Demos Import .....
Some demos in Gamebase also have a small info txt file within the zip file.
But Game Manager imports the txt file instead of the D64 or Prg file.
Can you please fix that?

New release with a bugfix: 1.7.5- Adds better logic for picking a correct entry in zip or rar files during gamebase import. Picks the first file with a file ending matching any of "d64", "t64", "prg", "p00", "d81", "d71", "x64", "g64", "tap", "crt", "vsf".
Update your installation by downloading PcuGameManager.exe from the link above and replace the existing file.

There are only 2 things now that make it hard for me to import Demobase64 properly.
Demos that have 2 or more disks. Pointing to the correct file on a D64?
Because Gamebase remembers which file is pointed to on a D64 it has to be stored somewhere?
If you want i can ask around if someone knows how to do that .
Gamebase64 is soo huge its difficult to check every demo and it would take me forever.
I can live with the Demos that have 2 or more disks, i can make a D81 probably and it doesnt take me a year or more to do that batch
Please let me know your thoughts on this fellas.

can you add some extra favorites slots ? How many do you feel you need? There are 5 favorites views now, I could perhaps add another 5 (use shortcuts ctrl+F6 to ctrl+F10 for marking games). Anyone else that want's this also?

Alright, I'll add 5 more for a total of 10 different favorites views.

There use to be a way(on a website, if anyone remembers) you could make a CJM file for a game, CJM file work exactly like a TSG file, you could actually rename one and then change its name to the same name as the disk image so Chase HQ (1989)(Ocean Software).tap would be Chase HQ (1989)(Ocean Software).cjm so change the name of CHASEHQ-ms.tsg to Chase HQ (1989)(Ocean Software).cjm and it would work and use the joystick config from it when you load the image in File Loader or Media Access, so I was wondering would there be a way of being able to turn one of the games in the PCU Game Manager so it converts it to a CJM file for you so if you wanted to use it in the file Loader or Media Access, maybe export the image file(Tap,D64) and cjm so the whole game to a folder...? just a idea.. It uses the first line from the TSG file.. And the joystick config part of the file... In bold.. T:Chase HQ X:64,pal,sid6581D:en: D:fr: D:de: D:es: D:it: A: M: E:racing Y:1985 F:games/LODERUNNER.vsf.gz C:covers/LODERUNNER-cover.png G:screens/LODERUNNER-00.png G:screens/LODERUNNER-01.png J:2*:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,SP,JD,JF,,,,JFThis is what a cjm file looks like.. X:64,pal,driveicon J:1:JU,JD,JL,JR,CM,CR,CM,CR,,F1,F3,F7,,, J:2*:JU,JD,JL,JR,CM,CR,CM,CR,,F1,F3,F7,,, A CJM file is just a TSG file without any of the other info it need to run on the carousel, CJM stands for (shaunbebbers did say C stood for Commodore but it can not be that cause they do not have the rights to the name Commodore and it does not say that in the Manual) Configuration Joystick Map file and TSG stands for The SixtyFour Game file.

Another Idea.. Would there be a way of exporting games to PCUAE say if I wanted to export all games but it exports all views with the name of the view(Gamelist) as a folder so if I wanted to export all views to PCUAE, it would make a folder say 1_C64_0_to_G for me that the view is named and add all games in the view to it then do the same with the next view and so on...? I ask cause each folder can only hold 255 games and it would make it easier to export all views that way, I have to export 7 views one at a time. That way you could export all Gamelist views to "USB://Carousel_Games/Games folder on the USB Stick in one go.
