Wow Nick, this has really come along well. Faster and great to see Vice Vic20 and Pet from popup menu on my C64Mini. Is the C64 DTV meant to have a menu of games? I just get C64 then an error. Thank you for all this great integration work. Top Job. C64DTV emulator only has the Basic part from it, its not the whole thing, VICE do not included games.

I have to look into MC and find a way of exiting out of it, I have a look tomorrow.

I could make a shortcut for CTRL-C or CTRL-O to close Yaft then it would close MC and reload the carousel but only use it on MC or in the Menu cause all it will do is reload the Carousel.

I just copied Project Carousel USB to my USB Stick that had True Blue C64 on it, it will fit but you have to remove THEC64 X-Windows Mod Desktop image file...

can you add to the boot menu boot default firmware (with auto boot on) and the next time you boot it will automatically start pcu again There is No Boot Menu anymore. The menu is now available once PCU is running. Select the menu with joystick Menu button 4 and Right Fire or use keyboard CTRL + 5 You can select to start the firmware carousel there. Next time you reboot it will be PCU Favourites

Right you can now exit out of MC by pressing on the keyboard(yes you will need a keyboard to close MC or use it) CTRL-O and it will close MC and reload TheCarousel. I have change it to PCU-1.3.2c.exe now, its kind of fitting really cause of its name MC and c from it... If you don't know how to use Midnight Commander then look here... www.linode.com/docs/guides/how-to-install-midnight-commander I am glad MC is now included, it really shows how much PCU has came (and me) over the course of this project. You don't need to use THEC64 X-Windows Mod to remaname files now really once you learn how to use it, its a file Manager, like you have on XBMC or KODI, you can copy files from one window to another or change names of a file like if you need to add a flag to a image file , like _AD. PCU-1.3.2c.exe is uploading now.. I hope you enjoy it, a lot of work went into this version, and thanks again to jj0 again without his Command Shell the Menu would not exist.. and for him help too, anyway he knows I apricate what help he gives me..

can you add to the boot menu boot default firmware (with auto boot on) and the next time you boot it will automatically start pcu again Use option 5 to boot default firmware.. I called loading up the carousel from the firmware, Firmware Mode after Classic Mode/Boot Mode in THEC64 Mini/Maxi/VIC20... When You load the firmware, you want a way to start PCU from it...? Option 8 is to turn on/off Autoboot and the next time you boot it will automatically start PCU again, I disabled it by default. or are to talking about a way of Autobooting into the firmware from in PCU so it Autoboot from starting up the machine, the Carousel from the firmware or the carousel in PCU...? But I don't see the point of that, I want you to use PCU more... All idea welcome, If I can add it I will.. What will be coming... I will be adding a option to the menu so you can copy the games in the firmware to the Firmware_Games folder in Carousel_Games/Games/ folder... And adding all Carousels v1.5.2 for all models to CTRL-F5 so if your on THEC64 Maxi and press CTRL-F5 it will load the right carousel for that Model, it already dose that for THEC64 Mini, at the moment THEC64 Maxi and THEVIC 20 uses the carousel from THEVIC20, CTRL-F5 was really only meant to be for THEVIC20 carousel but add more carousels to it in the end.

That's OK... Glad you like it. Added a new option now in the PCU Option Menu so you can backup the games from the firmware now and they will be copied to Firmware_Games in Carousel Games/Games folder.. Once you start it you Can't stop it, so I put in a yes no box to confirm you want to do it. They will appear on the Carousel Gamelist Selection Screen under Firmware Games, if you put the USB Stick in another machine and copy the firmware games from it you can have a mixture of games from 2 different machines.

That is amazing. Then you can also keep it as a backup for update`s for pcu. That has already gone wrong with me, now it will go better. Good addition!

Hello I have the mini I put the last PCU and now when I move in the carousel after a while random everything stops but after a couple of seconds it starts again I thought it was the music but disabling it does it much less and always random advice sd? I have tested it on my Mini and it works fine, I have my THEC64 Mini on top of my THEVIC20 so I can test PCU on it when I need to, Mine has a ESMT nand and a Argent so its the PAL version, and PCU-1.3.2c works fine on it, I just loaded it on it from a USB Stick(True Blue C64 USB Stick), what is your THEC64 Mini and what USB Stick your using...?

OK, Just tested it on my THEC64 Mini Argent Silver label(Toshiba nand) with the same USB Stick and PCU works fine on it, It could be your Kingston 16GB, is it a USB Stick or SD Card, you can use a SD Card with a SD Card Reader that turns it into a USB Stick...?
Do you use a USB HUB, if so that might be the problem and slowing the USB Stick down, if you can plug it straight into a USB port on THEC64 Mini.
The faster the USB Stick is the better, but up to USB 2.0, so if you plug a USB 3.0 stick in it it will downgrade it to 2.0 and the same speed as USB 2.0. You can check as well if you have copied PCU properly to your USB Stick, check the files on the USB stick and see if any are corrupted, if so then there is a problem with the USB Stick, is it real.

If you post a problem with PCU, please post your specs like what model(THEC64 Maxi EU or PAL) your using it on, and what USB Stick or SD Card your using so I can see what speed it is, some USB Stick and SD Card are fake, there's a lot of them on eBay so be careful what your buying, I have bought loads of fake SD Cards from eBay. like if they are 64gb they are not they are more like 8GB, and the SD Cards info has been hacked and are not the right speed, transfer rate so as so as you copy data or files to it the files on it work first time but after a while they get corrupted and stops working.

Hi before I was using PCU 1.17 and everything was perfect. I Formatted put the PCU 1.3.2 and it worked except the pops of the sound in the carousel put 1.3.2c does this defect but I also think that maybe it's the fault of the SD reader and the kingston memory you use a usb hub. In fact, I noticed if I load a game from the carousel and then return to the carousel it sometimes gets stuck due to reloading the music.

ok I look into sorting the music in the background, maybe if it take longer to change to a different wav that might stop it doing what its doing, it changes wavs every minute, have you tried to turn the soundtracks off..?

PCU-1.3.2 if its the same version, you can install newer version(a,b,c,d,e) of the same version over the top of that version on your USB Stick .. , I only say clean install when I have added something new in it like the Menu or changed something like the scripts and then it gets a new version number.

The problem I am having with Windows installer and Advance Installer is it wants to uninstall the older version before installing the newer version, so would wipe the PCU Game Managers database every time, what I would like it to do is just install over the top of it, dam thing.
How to get round this would be, if a new version of PCU AIO comes out, back up your database first in PCU Game Manager before installing PCU AIO new version cause it will uninstall old version first and delete database.
PCU All In One will not include THEC64-X Windows Mod Desktop, it takes 2gb so way to big for a installer and this way you can add it if you want to use it, I never really use it now and you now have Midnight Commander on PCU so can edit your files that way, I edit my files now by using Gadget Mode, more options are now available for editing files on the USB Stick from the machine, so no need for XWM any more.
And it takes to much space to store it on a USB stick so you need a 3GB(can't get a 3GB only 2 or 4GB) USB Stick or SD Card with it added, without it the file size of PCU is only 673 MB so only need a 1GB USB Stick(True Blue Mini C64 USB Stick comes to mind).

can you add at boot an option to boot normal or pcu ? That would slow down boot, you could remove the USB or if you forget use the option on the menu to boot firmware Carousel. What is so important about the firmware carousel you need to boot to it? You can access the same games from PCU on the selector if desired.

Would anyone like a option in the PCU Option Menu for Boot Classic Mode 50Hz and 60Hz, so if you select it will switch to Classic Mode and Boot into it the next time you restart the machine and switch from 50Hz to 60Hz and back..?
I thought I start accommodating for users that use the machine like its a real 64 and don't use the carousel, you can now download a version of PCU without the games, with only Favouties so It need one in there for the carousel to work, if I removed all of them then it would think there's no games and crash.

I suppose that a next boot mode that persisted until changed would satisfy most people.
I would not want a boot menu as well as an in PCU menu though.
You could store a small file on the USB that the script reads then boot up anything.
Classic 50Hz C64 Classic 60Hz C64 Classic 50Hz Vic20 Classic 60Hz Vic20 Pure Firmware Carousel - machine ID PCU - The C64 Carousel PCU - The Vic20 Carousel
I guess all of them could respond to the PCU Menu except Pure Firmware Mode which would relaunch PCU from Settings and fake firmware.
There's your next sub menu like the Vice one ;-)
Yes please. Thank you Nick.

I don't want a boot menu either. Can't you switch between 50 / 60Hz after booting? The new versions are great, but I'm getting lost. I now want to make a new usb stick for my orange pi with the carousel, but how do I do that with pcu-aio.exe The micro sd with the firmware for the orange works. I did watch a 50-minute movie, but the penny doesn't want to drop. I no longer see 7z files, so that should be possible with the pcu-aio? It will be the age and my mental constitution right now. The best and easiest way for me was just a zip containing the usb files. Fortunately I still have an older version of pcu, which I will put on it.

No I was not saying a boot menu, we have the PCU Option Menu already and if you enable Autoboot and press CTRL-5 or Menu(4) Button and Left Fire Button at booting up the machine. it will boot the PCU Option Menu before the GUI boots up. We have already... "Enable or Disable 50Hz or 60hz Display(PAL OR NTSC Mode)", all I was saying is a option for Classic mode, so it enables 50hz or 60hz display for Classic mode, so you could have "11 Enable or Disable Boot Carousel Mode 50Hz or 60hz Display(PAL OR NTSC Mode)" and "12 Enable or Disable Boot Classic Mode 50Hz or 60hz Display(PAL OR NTSC Mode)" I only add a option where the option is a toggle switch so it switches between 50hz and 60hz.
Another idea I had is... I might as well add a option to Firmware Mode where you can boot it from the Nand or USB stick so the Firmware is running from the USB Stick instead so if you update it, it keeps the original firmware the same so if you don't want to update the firmware for some reason or to test firmware updates... good idea at all, anyone would be interested in that..?
I could do it the same as how XWM works so use a img file of the firmware, it does work, I did try it about 6 months ago as a test and see if it would work.
