It don't have a boot menu any more I changed it to PCU Options Menu, I was finding it to hard pressing INST DEL to bring it up and it didn't always work, CTRL-5 or Press Menu button and Right Fire button on THEC64 Joystick to load it.
Just fixed VICE on THEC64 Mini so its now working in the menu, its uploaded now so you can download it again, sorry about that.

Great work @spannernick. Thanks for putting so much time into this. It actually makes THEC64 worth using! Now, where can I download PCUv1.3.2? Is it just me, or does the link on the homepage lead to PCUv1.3.1?

If you keep pressing Menu Button-Right Fire Button as PCU boots up(Autoboot needs to be enabled) the PCU Options Menu will come up before the carousel is loaded or press the buttons when you see the PCU Logo if your running from the fake update.
The button script starts get loaded in the Autoboot_loop script so it loads up quicker but when you run PCU from a fake update it don't run that script, Autoboot only runs that script.

Thanks moby! One question though - is it best to wait for any bug-fixes to download and install, or is this good to go?

Great release, thanks Nick! Found a few small issues on my TheC64. Once it boots to the favorites list the flip sound is turned off (which is nice) but if I select another list from the list screen the flip sound is turned on again. Is it supposed to do that? I also noticed that the "System and PCU information" shows VIC 20 for my TheC64 (I think I have the EU version). Is there any way to get TheC64 keyboard to work better in the game list selector screen? Now you can move with the cursor keys, but only to the left, not to the right (pressing shift). It would be nice if you don't have to use the original joystick for selecting a folder. Keep up the good work!

Just sorted out the "THEVIC 20" name problem on the Menu and vice menu it should now say on your machine "THEC64 Maxi PAL", Autoboot Enable/Disable splash was not showing when it was enabling it so just fixed that too.
I have a look in to the Carousel Gamelist Selector Screen next and see if I can sort out the keys, but not sure if I can, you can use THEC64 Joystick with the selector screen too not just the keyboard.
When I update PCU it will have a new letter (a,b,c,d and so on...) in it, like Project Carousel USB-1.3.2a.exe, so you know its been updated.
PCU has Just been Updated... Changed it name now to it full name.

well, if you go to game 5 menu with your joystick you cannot get to 6 and firmware games. So you have to go back to game menu 3 and then down. So that's the problem ?? Menu 5 is still not right for me. More people suffer from this?

oh didn't see that, I guess I was rushing.. the games are ok on my sd card but not the backup I used to make PCUv1.3.2 with.. weird, sorted out the games now, uploaded... I accidently left the games in the firmware folder too when I tested the code to se if it copied the games from the firmware properly to make sure it worked, I have removed them now.

Hi the wav music in the carousel has some weird pops and distortions at the exit nobody happens? The same for me and I also confirm a problem on the flip sound very similar to what lantzelot reported but in my case at the first start it starts with the flip sound of the "TheC64" and as soon as I change the carousel the flip sound switches off and remains the typical sound of the "TheVIC20" when navigating the menus.

I found another bug, I accidentally pressed "CTRL + 6" instead of "CTRL + 5" and everything crashes, you have to press "CTRL-RESTORE" for a reset or hold down the Power button for a forced shutdown.

Hello, Im completely new to the concept of the carousel and I'm wondering if there is a "dummies" guide to downloading and usb mounting/installing on the c64 maxi? I've been downloading and unzipping files without much success, the best i can get so far is about 48 games in the games usb folder but can't access the rest of the games on the usb drive for some reason? Anyone got a step by step beginners guide for a 50 year old gamer?

Sorted out VICE now, I removed the model name by accident when fixing its codename on the menu, so it didn't know what machine it was running so picked VIC 20 emulator for every emulator in the vicemenu.
The soundtracks sound ok to me but I will copy them again from my SD Card this time to the archive.
Trying to sort out the Flip sound at the moment..
I let you know when I am finish and everything is working and I will upload a new version "Project Carousel USB-1.3.2b.exe"

The flip sound is not turning off when you boot up for some reason, its not over mounting the flip.wav at startup but does it when you reload TheCarousel or change gamelist screens.. weird, at startup I can see its running the code to do it but not overmounting the wav file, no error has come up say it has not done it, it should of worked... need to think now.. Please Wait...
Filp Sound is turned on, turning off...
Filp Sound is Turned off.... Done

ive unzipped both files onto usb, i can't figure out how to get the carousel working on the maxi The archive contains 2 exe files which are self extracting 7zip archives. Run both of those or just the PCUI one or open them with 7zip and extract them to an empty USB stick Now boot up the TheC64 or TheVic20 or TheC64Mini and select settings menu and look for the fake firmware. Once you run the fake firmware you will be in PCU (Project Carousel)

PCU-1.3.2b.exe is Project Carousel USB that you extract to your USB Stick then plug into your USB Port on your machine and then go you Wrench Icon/System Information and then run fake update to start it and the other is PCU and PCU Game Manager together(PCU+PCU-Game Manager.7z), you extract that to a folder on your PC then run PCU-1.3.2b.exe from it and PCU Game Manger you extract that to a folder on your PC then run PcuGameManager.exe and use it to copy games to PCU with. Changed the names for the files now because you can't see the whole file names on One Drive. Bug fixed version uploading... PCU-1.3.2b.exe... 7-zip download... www.7-zip.org/download.html

Ok I quickly tested the latest version 1.3.2b and the problem of the flip sound that is deactivated at the carousel change seems solved and the choice through PCU Options Menu works well. However, if I deactivate the flip sound,
the system sounds of TheVIC20 and the weird pops mentioned above return. Another thing I would like to suggest, if possible, is to display the "Project Carousel USB" logo only at the first start or restart of the machine and
not, for example, after a choice made in the PCU Options Menu, in order to reduce waiting times.

Wow Nick, this has really come along well.
Faster and great to see Vice Vic20 and Pet from popup menu on my C64Mini.
Is the C64 DTV meant to have a menu of games? I just get C64 then an error.
Thank you for all this great integration work. Top Job.
