spannernick, why does the game description text of the games not appear in the VIC20 gamelist on the Maxi? I have only extracted the files from PCUv1.15.zip to the root of the USB key and have nothing changed beside the rename of the folder "games1" to "games" inside the folder VIC20. It's interesting that in the Game Tool all the text infos show up, but in the VC20 Gamelist on the Maxi not. The only game, where the text is shown is "Gridrunner VIC20". For example in the Game Tool "Donkey Kong" has this description:
On the Maxi no description appears. Then I have seen, "Gridrunner VIC20" is the only game, where Joy1 is activated, but I think it doesn't matter which port is activated there, because the VIC20 had only one. Changing it to Joy1 in Donkey Kong doesn't has an effect. Still no description text on the Maxi. It's the same with my added games. Btw. I'm making good progress, I will soon be able to send you my "games" folder with all TheVIC20 carousel games. Sorted VIC 20 games out now, Hopefully.. Uploaded.. All games are working here now on THEC64 Maxi PI and showing there description, Updated and uploaded PCUv1.15.for.mac.img. If you use PCUv1.15.for.mac.img it comes with X-Windows Mod, so if you want to enable VIC20 games without using the USB Flash Drive in the PC, just boot X-Windows Mod to change the name of the folder in /Carousel_Games/Games/VIC20/ from "games1" to "games" then run PCU and VIC20 Carousel Gamelist Screen will show up. Clowns is a fun game to play.. it like Circus.. its joystick was not working on the first version I tried but it dose now, had to change the image of the game to get it to work.

Yep, no probs man, and just to assure you, I had previously read those posts before relating to mac users and the suggestion of the blue harvest tool.
The only value-add I was offering in my post (in addition to what was known already) was that you don't really need to install a 3rd party tool to delete such files. You can do so simply via the Mac's terminal and typing in the suggested command.
So it's a modest win, but still something worth sharing ;-)

Fixing that now, had to reupload them so please wait.. Just made a Soundtrack wav for the VIC 20 Carousel Gamelist Screen, if you listen to it, in the middle of music you will hear the change in the Khz, then it will change back, the music is coming from a real Commodore VIC20... Uploading now.. Its from this video... It cool how he has done it...

Try now again.. It should be ok now..? I have no idea whats going on but still has the following error (well for me anyway)
! H:\TheC64 Maxi\PCUv1.15a.zip: Checksum error in Carousel_Games\Games\VIC20\music\mix_mini1.wav. The file is corrupt ! H:\TheC64 Maxi\PCUv1.15a.zip: The archive is corrupt
I went and downloaded the Mac .img file and extracted that on my PC and that had no errors, so I do have it now but the ZIP file has errors.

Try now.. I just downloaded it from One Drive and the file is fine, I use Windows 10 to uncompress it, DO NOT use a app to do it.
I removed "Carousel_Games\Games\VIC20\music\mix_mini1.wav" it not meant to be there, it has a new soundtrack now "mix_mini5.wav"

It was One Drive, when I was editing the zip file and it didn't delete "mix_mini1.wav" file so made the zip file corrupted, Windows was saying there was a error with deleting that file.

Loads up fine on my Maxi however, when I cycle through the folders, the Vic20 carousel list isn't displayed. It just goes back to favs.

Also, I can no longer change the carousel list via system firmware update. It just takes me back to favs every time

Spannermick, do you know why when I try to swap game lists via the old Firmware method it just keeps brining up the Favs folder?

Button Gamelist Switcher is enabled now, press and hold Menu and then press Fire for 2 seconds to change Gamelists(but only works with THEC64 Joystick unless you customize the buttons with your controller you are using) You need to enable the old method, VIC 20 screen don't work with the old method, I can get VIC20 to work with the old method if you like but both don't work with each other cause it can run only one script at a time, it can't run both.

That got the Vic20 games working, thanks. Spannermick, do you know why when I try to swap game lists via the old Firmware method it just keeps brining up the Favs folder? I figured it out now. Open start.sh with an editor (It's in the root of your USB key). At the bottom of the file it will look like this:
Change it to this: Be careful. the start.sh file has all in a row and it's not so clearly like in this quotes. Make sure, you are on the right side to remove/add the hash (#). When you look at it, you will not see, if the # is at the end of the line or at the beginning of the next one!
It will boot to the 0 - G gamelist with the retro games splash screen. Then it loads H - R with the H - R loading screen. Then it loads to S - Z with the H - R loading screen??? This must be a mistake. Then it loads to Favourites screen with the H - R loading screen??? This must be a mistake. Then it loads again to the 0 - G gamelist correctly with the 0 - G gamelist screen and so on.
I know it's much more comfortable to switch game lists with the two button method. For all those like me, who do not like the original Maxi Stick and do not even want to connect it, there is only the EVTEST thing to do, to make for example the widely used Speedlink Competition Pro Extra Joystick with the two button method work for changing the gamelist screens. I haven't played with it yet. Until then I still use the old fake firmware update method, even if some loading screens are not displayed correctly.

I can get VIC20 to work with the old method if you like but both don't work with each other cause it can run only one script at a time, it can't run both. This would be nice. I just didn't notice, that the VIC20 game list has disappeared. So back to the new method. I'm running a VIC20 project.

Its all in the HELP README.txt file that comes with PCU, its all there how to change things in the start.sh script or look at the start.sh script and it will tell you what you can change and what you can't, I did it like that so it was easy to change anything it the script, I explain what each thing dose in the script so you know what you can change... I know if I didn't know about scrips, I would want to know what it all does so that's why I did it that way, in a way I am teaching you.. PLEASE LOOK at the FIRST POST first then the HELP README.txt file then the START.SH file on the root of the zip file or USB Flash Drive, everything is there on how to change stuff.. If you do not understand anything, post about it and I don't mind helping you or someone else will...

I changed the script a bit, I hope you can all read it properly now... have not uploaded it yet, been working on the script for the Fake Update Switcher.
Example...

New version coming some time today, PCU v1.16, I have updated Fake Update Gamelist Switcher to included VIC-20 CGS and I noticed the PCU logo was do booting up when you start PCU when FUGS was enabled and I have fixed that, and change what Load Gamelist ----- > say now, it say now "Load next gamelist >" and says "BGS enabled, not available" when Buttons Gamelist switcher is enabled so you know not to use it. You have to enable VIC20 CGS for it to show like you do with Favourites but if VIC20 is enabled you have go into VIC20 folder to hide Favourites, its in its start.sh script it the same script as in S_to_Z folder so its easy to change. Anything you don't understand please post here(you can ask any questions you like) and I will help you as much as I can ..
