This controller the Innext always worked with the 64 preloaded games and still does on PCU, however, it doesn't work starting any of the newly added games when you need to use the fire button to start the game. The right shoulder button is the fire button but that doesn't start games. I assume it is mapped to the right fire button equivalent on the original joystick so maybe that is why? You have to add your own controller, its easy to do.. Look below for help.. Q: How to add my Game Controller or Joystick to PCU?A: You can use the SDL2 Game tool(info on there site on how to use the sdl2 game tool).
We have made it easier to add a controller or joystick to PCU, by overmounting the gamecontrollerdb.txt on theC64 firmware with one one in PCU, you have two text files, one for THEC64 Mini and one for THEC64 Maxi, that because the C64 Mini uses SDL1 and THEC64 Maxi uses SDL2.
The SDL2 Game Tool on windows, the GUID it shows is wrong for it to work on Linux but not on Windows, look down below to correct this so it works on THEC64 Mini/Maxi..
Can you see the difference and what's wrong..?
03000000a30c00002500000000000000,Sega Megadrive Mini 3 Button Controller,a:b5,b:b1,righttrigger:b2,start:b9,dpup:-a4,dpdown:+a4,dpleft:-a3,dpright:+a3,platform:Linux,
03000000a30c00002500000011010000,Sega Megadrive Mini 3 Button Controller,a:b5,b:b1,righttrigger:b2,start:b9,dpup:-a4,dpdown:+a4,dpleft:-a3,dpright:+a3,platform:Linux,
See the difference, this part needs adding 03000000a30c00002500000011010000 its missing at the end, "00000000" at the end is wrong.
When using the SDL2 Game tool on Windows, you need the to change last 8 digits(numbers) at the end to "11010000" and paste it over 8 zeros digits at the end of the GUID then you have the right GUID for Linux and THEC64 Mini/Maxi.
Worked it out from this post... thec64community.online/post/3116
Once you have configured the controller you get this..
03000000a30c00002500000011010000,Sega Megadrive Mini 3 Button Controller,a:b5,b:b1,righttrigger:b2,start:b9,dpup:-a4,dpdown:+a4,dpleft:-a3,dpright:+a3,platform:Windows,
Copy it into the gamecontollerdb.txt at the end of the file to the THEC64 version you are using,(Mini or Maxi), you have to change platform:Windows to platform:Linux and platform might be near the beginning of the line so it has to be moved to the end, like it is in the line above.
The SDL txt files are in the folder "Carousel_Games\Options\controllers". named c64maxicontrollerdb.txt and c64minicontrollerdb.txt. copy it to the one you are using, I would back up the one you are going to edit and add a Controller or Joystick to.
Now save it, you can test it and see if your controller works, if you have done it right, it will work as soon as you start-up PCU and able to move the square yellow box around the Carousel.

the fault is in the game Dir :
it's on: The Sacred Armour of Antiriad the game is missing.
I don't have much time right now,
have here already (only) 3 VIC20 games
Choplifter Jelly Monsters Omega Race VC20games_P1.rar (140.3 KB) maybe it is also easier to wait for the VIV20 and then copy the games from the firmware

Abductor, Andes Attack, Blitzkrieg, Gridrunner, Headbanger’s Heaven, Hell Gate, Laser Zone, Matrix, Psychedelia and Traxx are already running flawlessly. I'm searching right now for the other 18 games of TheVIC20 carousel in the web. As soon I have all included games of TheVIC20 up and running, I will provide them here of course. I have already successfully managed to run many more games, but they still have to be selected and the vertical shift of the image of the games corrected. At the moment, the games of TheVIC20 have priority anyway.

There is a load of VIC 20 games here... thec64community.online/thread/459/vic20-games-thec64-maxiHope this helps, I have added Donkey Kong, Rat Race and Omega Race to it so far, I have not added them to PCU main release yet. You can hide a Carousel Gamelist Screen by change the name of the games folder inside 0_fav, 0 to G, H to R and S to Z folders, by rename it to games1, the Buttons Gamelist Swither looks to see if you have a games folder in one of them folders and skips it if it don't find one.

Hi Span, Is it possible that you forgot to include the rootfs in the last PCU1.15.zip from yesterday? It's much shorter than the old one.

Hi Span, Is it possible that you forgot to include the rootfs in the last PCU1.15.zip from yesterday? It's much shorter than the old one. As of PCU1.15 you have to download the rootfs.img separately, to reduce download size for people who are not interested in XWM. It's somewhere in the (huge) first post.

My attached readme text file: I will massively expand the game collection and add many good Vic20 games in a separate folder. I will keep you up to date. All of my releases I provide for the Project Carousel USB and to anyone who wants to use them.

Yes, but first there must be the VIC20 carousel added, which will be hided for TheC64 Mini users. The Mini has no VIC20 emulation support.

that the Mini does not support VC20 we know. All work is to add the VC20 games with the Game Tool if you support us in this, it would be great!
You can hide the VC20 Games from the MINI

It would be a honor for me to work on the Project Carousel. I only take care of the Vic20 carousel and nothing else. I have completely ignored the Vic20 since I bought my TheC64 Maxi, but have now found that there are some really good games that are really fun. I'll start creating the Vic20 game list on Saturday. Before that, I have a few questions: 1. How can I add a complete carousel to version 1.15? I don't see any options in the game tool for that. I don't see any options to hide an entire carousel from the Mini. Perhaps you could send the current version with an empty Vic20 carousel through a private link in which everything is already prepared and I only need to add the Vic20 games, covers, screens and text? 2. When I have an updated and tested game list ready, how should I make it available to you? I could simply make it available again via my Google Drive account via link. Probably the folder "VIC20", or whatever you want to call it, is sufficient as a equivalent to the "S_to_Z" folder in the games folder? You can send me personal messages in German at any time, because German is my mother tongue. As a general info I also tell you that I only have a maxi and not a mini. So I can not check whether the game list or the games are hidden on a mini.
EDIT: I guess you mean, I should add the VC20 games to the normal game lists. I could do that, but it would also be cool if there is a special VC20 Game List. VC20 games in a carousel that is only visible to Maxi if possible. I already have over 60 running VC20 games, but some needs a little tweaking yet.

Do I understand that correctly now? I create the game file, the cover, the screenshots and maybe the text for the PCU, put everything in the folder VIC20 and write a message to spannernick with the link to the file. Then he does the rest.

I am the one who created this not Fraky-Byte..? Remember you can only fit 226 games in Carousel Gamelist screen, I don't want loads of folders for VIC 20, because a lot of games that were on the VIC 20 are on the C64 too, and we would have too many folders to go thought, that why I only made one Carousel Gamelist Screen for VIC20 and its hidden so you have to change the games folder name inside "VIC20" folder from "games1" to "games" to see it, it has 5 games included., I will add more as time goes on.

I don't want to spam around with bad games and games, which were released for the C64 too. That doesn't make sense. I just integrate the best VIC20-only games and the games from the upcoming TheVIC20 (I think they must be in the VIC20 gamelist, as they will be released on TheVIC20 games carousel too). It will not reach 226 games by far. Only to manage it to run the VIC20 games correctly requires some work. Some runs only with the .prg, some only with the .crt extension. Then there has to be the _B1, _B2 flags included and so on. Mainly in games with unknown memory expansion reqiurements there is only try and error. Some games only run with the _MV flag alone and do not run with any memory expansion. Just this is a lot of work. Then the covers has to be found and some screenshots in Vice taken to include them in the PCU and so on.
I am the one who created this not Fraky-Byte..? I know. I'll make you a suggestion. First of all I am working on the remaining files of the TheVIC20 games (covers, screenshots, text ..), then I will use the Game Tool to integrate them into the VIC20 game list screen on my PCU. When everything is finished and running correctly, I send you a message with the link to the zip file, which contains the finished folder "games" inside the VIC20 folder together with the files themselves and then you can decide whether my work is desired or not. Otherwise I will continue to work on my personal VIC20 carousel gamelist screen for my own TheC64 Maxi and no one else will benefit from my work. More than one VIC20 Carousel Gamelist will never be needed, because there are probably not even 226 VIC20-only games that are worth integrating into the PCU.

I uploaded a img file called PCUv1.15.for.mac.img its a copy of my 4 GB sd card, try that.. You need to have a 4 GB USB Flash Drive or SD card to copy it to it, and a program that can copy .img files, its a image like you would use on a Raspberry PI for copying its OS to a Miro SD card, X-Windows Mod is Included. If you look at some of the posts here, some users were having a problem with MacOSX too so yes your best bet is to use proper Windows, I use Windows 10 to zip it up and copy to my USB Flash Drive. Theses post here might help you... thec64community.online/thread/501/project-carousel-usb?page=18

spannernick, why does the game description text of the games not appear in the VIC20 gamelist on the Maxi? I have only extracted the files from PCUv1.15.zip to the root of the USB key and have nothing changed beside the rename of the folder "games1" to "games" inside the folder VIC20. It's interesting that in the Game Tool all the text infos show up, but in the VC20 Gamelist on the Maxi not. The only game, where the text is shown is "Gridrunner VIC20". For example in the Game Tool "Donkey Kong" has this description:
On the Maxi no description appears. Then I have seen, "Gridrunner VIC20" is the only game, where Joy1 is activated, but I think it doesn't matter which port is activated there, because the VIC20 had only one. Changing it to Joy1 in Donkey Kong doesn't has an effect. Still no description text on the Maxi. It's the same with my added games. Btw. I'm making good progress, I will soon be able to send you my "games" folder with all TheVIC20 carousel games.

Finally getting around to trying PCU tonight. Did the copy across on my macbook and ran into the same problem other Mac users faced, lots of crappy "._blah" files are auto-generated on mac, and they screw up PCU. My solution for this was:
1. Open up Terminal
2. 'cd' to the path of your USB-stick, for me:
cd /Volumes/NO\ NAME
3. Run this command to delete all the "._blah" files.
find . -type f -name '._*' -exec rm {} \;
NOTE: I got a few errors of 'Invalid argument' for some of these items on the first run, so I just ran the command again to assure they *all* got successfully deleted.
4. Eject USB-stick from your Mac, plug into your TheC64, and hey presto!
All working well, thanks again for your efforts on this project guys!
