Hi crispin my problem is now, first i plug in the adapter, the updater find it and give me update for V3, i update it and ok. Then the configurator find it, i try down and fire button and then programm settings. Settings saved.
but now, when i plug in the adapter to PC (try diffrent PC´s with Windows 10) Windows install it as The C64Joystic but the configurator or the update tool don´t find this device, updater say disconnect, configurator fount no device :-( I can´t reset the adapter and on my c64 mini has only the fire button function. No more.
in the pdf i read from
Having problems with the e4you_Adapters_Configurator.exe
what is this and how i can find it?
Thanks Rico

when i plug in the adapter to PC (try diffrent PC´s with Windows 10) Windows install it as The C64Joystic but the configurator or the update tool don´t find this device Adapter works like TWO devices in one case, with strange switch between those two. When you hold fire button and up (or down, depending of your adapter type), it will switch to one mode; make opposite and it will switch to another one. Here is C64 Mini Wiki page, with all known info about: gurce.net/c64mini/retrofun_adapterThere is link to RetroFun software repository (files storage): drive.google.com/drive/folders/1liT12FRtot6ySOGx6-XNP2GA-ugKfOXfand there is link to "e4you_Adapters_Configurator v1.04.exe" - this should be direct link: drive.google.com/open?id=1WcWIFoolmLe-WOg8Linf7ikei6bga4-0Hope it helps.

Yes. It is compatible. Need to be in C64-Mini mode. I signed up, just to deliver this news to you. I had my trusty TheArcade stick running on my Full-Size machine today.

What I did find also, was that I can not change settings or update the firmware on the RetroFun adaptor. When it is kicked into C64-Mini-mode. To revert back to standard settings, you need to hold the stick up and hold the fire button down, when the adaptor is inserted. Then it will go back to stock settings. However, who need to update the firmware, when it is only used for TheC64?

Would an original Comp Pro joystick be compatible with the RetroFun adapter on the C64 maxi? I've a couple of those from my teenage past that I'd love to use on the C64.

You can now add joysticks or Controllers alot easier using Project Carousel USB by editing the gamecontrollerdb.txt, its in Carousel_Games\addons\controllers\

On the RETRO FUN Twin DB9 Adapter by E4U(still have mine and it works still and did still mimic THEC64 Red Joystick, not needed no more), port 1 is on the right side and port 2 is the left side, it looks like it has one big DB port when its 2 DB9 ports, you have to be careful connecting a joystick to it, you can push it into the wrong pins vey easily. I just changed it back to normal so it thinks its a C64/Amiga/Atari 2 Button Joystick, it so I can add it to PCU gamecontollerdb.txt file so it works without having to update its firmware. I have already done the USB-Joy Adapter and that is now working in PCU in THEC64 Maxi.. I thought it was about time I added them, I have been adding them using the SDL2 Gamepad Tool for Windows that comes with PCU, its very easy to do yourself, there is a post about it on here. It not working at the moment, I don't matter really when you can pull DOWN on stick and press Fire button 1 and then plug it into THEC64 Maxi(at the same time) to make think its THEC64 Joystick.. If I do get it working I post it here.

I just updated mine to Software Version 03 and now it don't work with SDL2 Game Tool so I can not customize its buttons in SDL2 Game Tool when its in Normal Mode so when I press a button the app don't see them, ONLY update it to Software Version 02, I will not allow you to upload Version 02 over of version 03 but you can upload Version 01 over the top of Version 03 but Version 01 dose not emulate THEC64 Joystick, Version 02 and 03 dose.
WOW that was long, how many times am I going to say Version... lol
When I try and upload the firmware Retro Fun Twin Adapter Rev B + C64Mini (version 02) it says "Get update unexpected ERROR"

I'm dealing with the same virus problem. Anybody know *why* the files are being flagged as a virus? That link lets me download them but then as soon as I extract them from the zip file of course my antivirus program flags and removes them as infected. I suppose I could turn off antivirus long enough to use them but with all programs flagging them as a virus, I'm questioning the wisdom of doing that.

Its a false Positive, there from my One Drive and use it on mine so it OK, if the antivirus flags it and remove it, tell it to restore it and it shouldn't flag it a again.

I am new to the C64 community but have been designing usb adapters for a long time. I just tried my iCode pro and plus adapters to connect atari/c64 joystick to my mini and it worked fine for port 1. see www.icode.comUnfortunately while the 2 port and 4 port versions work great on Retropie and windows, on the c64 mini only port 1 gets recognized. Maybe there is a way to get the additional game ports to work on the mini but I have not figured it out yet. Still quite useful with 1 port working well. Any Experts out there whom want to assist, let me know and I can get your one at cost (50% or more off). And if you get them to work, you win a prize Let me know.

You've probably already done this, but can you run XWM and then plug in the converter and in the terminal window do: dmesg And provide the output relevant to the converter? And then also: ls -l /dev/input/* evtest And post the output?

Thanks. Given i am new to the mini, I have not run XWM or other hacks to get to the system.
What I did figure out is there is an issue with a resent change I made for the mini to see my adapters. A few days ago, when I first tried the Mini with my adapters, it would simply just not see the adapter plugged in at all. I looked online and someone had suggested to try to change my VID/PID combination to "0x22BA" / "0x1020" and sure enough, the change made the Mini see my adapter.
The problem I found out today after I saw your post is: I plugged my adapter back to my Pi and noticed when i use the new VID/PIS under /dev/input I only see js0. When I change my VID/PID back to "0x8282"/"0x3201" Pi lists js0 and js1 and jstest shows both working.
Does anyone know what the proper VID/PID combination is good to use for Mini to see the device and still see multiple HIDs on the device?
I will have to read up a bit on XVM if that's the only way to get to terminal to test the ports.
Let me know if you have any ideas or if anyone knows better VID PID combinations work best.
thanks.

My device has 4 db9 port as separate HIDs on the same USB port. they work fine in RetroPi and Windows. In RetroPi, dev/input directory shows all 4 js0-js3 listed and jstest on each work perfectly. After some more researching, it looks like Linux only supports multiple HIDs on a single usb via a quirk flag HID_QUIRK_MULTI_INPUT set in its hid-ids list. By looking at github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/hid/hid-quirks.c I was able to identify all the VID/PID combinations that have the flag set. This includes the "0x8282","0x3201" combinations I was using originally that mini would not see. In reviewing the c64 mini/maxi gamecontrollersdb.txt file on Carousel, none of them are preset in the file match ones that support multi-hids. So It looks like no out of box solution without editing the gamecontrollersdb.txt file and using Carousel. So I added my combinations to the file as: 03000000828200000132000001010000,Retro Joystick Adapter,a:b3,b:b4,x:b5,y:b6,back:b2,righttrigger:b1,lefttrigger:b0,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,platform:Linux, and sure enough, the mini saw my device but unfortunately it only seems to see js3 and the buttons are not mapped correctly and axis dont work, even though i know they are set correctly. I even checked in SDL2 tool. So not sure what to do next other than running xvm. I bet it will still show jstest working. Any ideas anyone would be helpful. Any experts out there? I can send you a free 4 port adapter if you can help me figure this thing out. thanks!
