You might want to look into one of those game construction sets for the C64 that you use on a PC to put together. It doesn't require any machine language knowledge, you just need to know basic logic to pick from various options of how the game characters and such would interact. Then it will compile it into machine code and write the game.
You might also try contacting The 8 Bit Guy and ask him of any programmers that might help. Also try Old School Coder (think that's the name). His entire YouTube channel is pretty much game designing on the 64. He has tutorials on that. He might be more than happy to write the game.
intex: Anybody know why you get a black screen with trying to do the firmware update for PCUAE? The firmware is detected, but as soon as I select APPLY, you just get a black screen. If I reboot the device, it goes back to the usual carousel (i.e. not bricked )
