I had the C64 Mini, did the 1.4.2 firmware upgrade and had no problems. But I just read a post here about how someone ran a 1.2.0 firmware upgrade on their C64 mini and it bricked.
I have The C64 Full Size and on the retro games website I found a 1.5.2 firmware upgrade. I just wanted to be sure that this is the correct firmware before I do anything, I paid a lot of money for this thing and don't want it breaking all because I updated the firmware.
The download takes you to a google drive where you download a 1.5.2 bin file. Is this correct?

Yes, that's the way it is officially disributed by RGL.

Absolutely. I got the official firmware version, ran it, and now have a Full size C64 running version 1.5.2 firmware.

Cool. Not sure I really understand PCUAE, so for now I'll just stick with finding games and putting them on USB stick and flagging as needed. I've this nasty habit of micromanaging individual files, so having a blast right now actually lol.
Thanks again for the info!

Unzip to a USB and you have hundreds of things already preconfigured to the Carousel plus the ability to run PET, VIC, C64, Plus/4, C128 in VICE in the new version and lots more.
