Hi,
I got a c64mini from my family for my birthday. Blast from the past. I have tried a lot of things to get elite to run, numerous different .d64 files but no joy. I can't seem to get a cjm file to work, can anyone help me or give step by step instructions for how to do it from a Mac computer to usb stick to c64 mini please?
Looking forward to playing the games,
PS I can't get titles such as Bruce Lee to work either.

Download PCUAE standalone version and try Bruce Lee on there.
Read the first thread and the last 2 pages on here you will find a quick step guide

Elite is included too, I love the game, I have the game on Tape too with its box made by Firebird..  |

Hi Spannernick,
I have followed your video as best I can, (I'm using a mac so cannot install the .exe program to the usb, merely being able to place it there). I have got some of the games working but only a selection from those available. Sadly elite isn't among them. Bruce Lee is though which will please my brother.
I have downloaded from your shared onedrive the PCU Mini Edition and even moved the theC64-9_9_93.bin file out from the folder infant of it. The C64 mini now recognises that there is a .bin file there but will not install it whereas it did install the firmware update from c64 yesterday.
I am grateful for your help as I now have more games than before but would appreciate it if you could help me further as I'm obviously doing something wrong somewhere but I am not sure what.

Scapula,
Download the standalone version - it has the games pre configured
Unzip to desktop (even the EXE can be opened with 7zip tools)
Copy to root of USB
Eject from pc
Insert usb to TheC64 / Vic20 / Mini
Power up The C64 / Vic20 / Mini
Select settings and run the fake firmware
Press CTRL+F7 or Joystick menu + left fire for games and select the one where Elite will be in 0-G
or Menu and right fire for a menu for more complex features.

Dear Vic2020ian,
As I've said, I can't copy to the root of a usb as this isn't something you can do on a Mac. I will try the 7zip tool but I hadn't struggled to unzip things otherwise. I will keep trying.

If you can not run the WinRar installer or WinRAR then use 7Zip and click on the exe file(its is a Archive) so just use 7Zip to unzip it to your USB Stick and then use Blue Harvest - www.zeroonetwenty.com/blueharvest/ to remove all the files that MacOS adds to the USB Stick that mess up PCUAE then it will work in your machine. |
