Hi,
Please note that when you are updating your firmware on THEC64 or THEVIC20, I recommend that you use the rear USB port for your USB memory stick. It is not recommended to use the side USB ports.
For the Mini, it is not recommended to update using a USB hub at all, so only use your THEC64 joystick and the USB drive.

Also make sure you are not using a USB drive with PCUAE on it for the upgrade. Use a blank USB with the new official firmware, make sure your TheC64 or TheVic20 is booted up to the stock carousel and not running PCUAE. Then perform the upgrade and all should be fine. Use PCUAE after the upgrade.
