Did you copy the the flies to the root of the USB stick. if so it should see the fake update..? it will say "theC64-9_9_90.bin" update on the screen. There is a video of me copying it to a USB Stick(sd Card) and running it on my THE VIC 20 on the first PCU page or here thec64community.online/post/6334

Try this turn on THEC64 Mini without USB Stick and let it boot the Carousel up now plug in the USB Stick and wait until you see the USB icon appear, then go to Wrench icon and system info and see if the update appears then if so apply it then wait 6 seconds of it to boot PCU.

Really appreciate you coming back to me on this but followed the vid, tried different usb, still no luckš¤ Is the USB stick recognised by the Mini at all? It needs to be formatted specifically as MBR partitioning and FAT filesystem. Windows does not always do this correctly, see here (https://thec64community.online/thread/453/usb-memory-stick-detected) for a different way to do this. Also, what firmware version is your Mini? Did you update it to the latest version (https://retrogames.biz/support/upgrade-thec64-mini)? What's probably happening is that Gauntlet uses joystick 1 whereas the Mini sets the joystick by default as joystick 2. So Gauntlet is waiting for you to e.g. press fire on joystick 1 but you can't. You can fix this yourself (https://retrogames.biz/thec64-mini/support/filename-flags-cjm-files) but spannernick's Project Carousel USB has already don this so it's easier to run that. But you can also fix it by adding a USB keyboard and then start the game from the Carousel with the keyboard which will make the joystick be joystick 1 (and the keyboard joystick 2). Or if you have another USB joystick add that so there will be a joystick 1 and a joystick 2.

Throw that thing in the trash by wiping the USB clean and installing the latest version of Project Carousel on it. From what I think I read those people even got arrested for selling copyrighted software, if not for True Blue I think it was for other stuff they were selling?

If you install PCUAE Manager on your PC then you can install PCUAE from it and to your USB Stick, the link for it is under the Project Carousel USB Anniversary Edition Manager Section on the forum or thec64community.online/thread/603/pcuae-managerYes TBM is a copy of Project Carousel USB Anniversary Edition, and its before I added generic game folders so you can now add any gamelist you want in the USB://Carousel_Games/Game folder using PCUAE Manager and load it in the carousel, you are stuck with the gamelists in TBM, I did buy TBM too but just to find out if they copied PCUAE or not.
