Hey guys,
Following the recent update of firmware for THEC64 maxi, I was wondering if there is anyway to restore your MAXI to the stock firmware after updating the carousel using THEC64 Maxi game tool?
I'd like to have the most recent firmware update then use the PCU with it but i'm not 100% sure if its just a case of factory resetting the C64 then loading the new firmware.
Any help would be appreciated....

In theory this is possible but as you have modified the carousel games, you will run into carousel strangeness. Most likely some games will have no artwork, some games will not launch and the whole carousel is broken. The update does not replace the whole firmware but only updates the files the manufacturer changed. Unfortunately this breaks some of the links. To get my C64 Mini back to something like stock firmware, I had to take the XWindows Mod, DELETE THE WHOLE GAMES FOLDER and restore the Games folder from a C64 Maxi (that was still unmodified), then deleting the VC 20 games as they do not work on the Mini. In this process I lost the Farming Simulator (not a big loss). Due to this I would not advice to change the games insider the firmware ever again, but use Nicks tools to "softmount" without modifying.
