Hello, I’m new to the forum. I have a Maxi coming (hopefully) on US release in November.
I’m looking at suitable LCD monitors, and thinking a 4:3 aspect ratio at 15 inches should look nice, with HDMI to keep it all simple. I’m presuming I’ll have no problems running it as a PAL C64, but does anybody have any ideas on what problems I might run in to? Thank you.

All you can do is try it and see, I use a Mini HDMI2VA, its in composite, like in the 80s, it stops the games looking so blocky, you can see it on the PCU thread in one of the videos.

That's the good thing about THEC64, try it and see if it works, its like when you got it in the 80s when you were a kid, then you didn't know if this and that would work so its the same feeling you will get when you got it the first time.. Enjoy your THEC64..

Cheers Spannernick, yeah the tinkering is what I’m most looking forward to. I’ve gotten Simons’ Basic + Extensions ready to go. Even bought the soft cover manual off Ebay. Also got the Mini Hobbyists Guide and have Mastering the Commodore 64 coming too. As I remember it, it was quite good for dipping a toe in to machine code.
And then I was waiting for the wife to finish her haircut and noticed a tiny cellphone repair shop. Walked in asking where to get a 4/3 vga monitor, walked out with one for $5! It’s cleaned up like new. So I got the adapter you suggested, with an audio out.
Now I just need the 64 lol.
