Are there any USB File Name Limitations?
I just ordered and have not yet received my USA TheC64 Full Size Maxi.
I use other Emulator Programs and some have limitations.
Are there any for file naming limitations for TheC64 Maxi?
(I read about the 256 file reading limitation, but nothing on the file name itself.)
Max Name Character Length, Special Characters, Underlines, spaces, etc?
Thanks, Any assistance is appreciated to rename my file names if needed.

From page 27 of the user manual - "The File loader icon appears in the OPTIONS TOOLBAR when you connect a FAT32 formatted USB stick to a USB port on THEC64. Use this option to load other C64 and VIC 20 compatible program files from a USB stick, using a virtual disk, tape, cartridge or stand-alone program. See APPENDIX B for full details on how to prepare a USB stick for use on THEC64, and see CHAPTER 8 for full details on using the File loader." All you can do is use a image file like a .d64 and change its name and add different characters to it to see if THEC64 Maxi can read them in Classic Mode or USB File Loader, I know it has a limit to how many files it can show, There is currently a display limit of 256 items (files and/or folders) on USB memory sticks per folder, including the root. Files take priority over folders, so if you go over that item limit, files are always displayed in preference to folders. |
