Hi all,
I've been adding a lot of games to the carousel recently and have been using Photoshop to resize the screenshots from vice.
When the mini first came out my screenshots were nice and crisp...unfortunately its been awhile and I've forgotten how to do it as the newer ones are slightly blurry!
Does anyone know the correct method for getting the screenshots "crispy" with nice block detail?
I've tried the marquee tool (which I'm sure i used before), then resize method, changing size to 320x200 pixels trying all the "bicubic" variants, but no good. My covers are awesome thou. A search online isn't really helping either.
Anyone got any ideas?

I use THEC64 Maxi Game tool, it resize covers and screenshots for you when you add them to a game you have added.

So just an update, if anyone else had this problem.....crop your images folks (headslap), I'd forgotten this step of taking the black border out of the screenshot! All good now!

I found a easier way of making a VICE snapshot, you can make one using THEC64 Mini/Maxi, if you save your game then go in to the save folder(you can only do this with PCU) "/Carousel_Games/Options/Saves/" and look for the name of the game you saved and go into that folder, you will find 3 files in the folder "0.mta", "0.png" and "0.vsz" the file you want is "0.vsz" and copy it to a safe place then rename, if I want to add or change a game in the Carousel so I would rename it to "BATTY.vsf.gz" cause its a Vice snapshot that's compressed like the games in the Carousel, then you can add it to the games "BATTY.tsg" file and it will load it in the Carousel and it will start where you left off.. You can do it too with the saves you make when you load a game in Media Access and USB File Loader too. just need to find the save folder and do the same.. When it save a game it gets VICE to save a snapshot, a VSF file and compresses it in to a ,gz file so its a .vsf.gz. you can even use the "0.png" file that was made with the save as a picture of the game and add it to the Carousel, you just rename it the same name as the game, I did this with the game Batty the other day. Batty is in PCU now and is updated, it loaded a D64 and would take a while to load the game, Now it don't.. You can load .vsf files in USB File loader and Media Access too, just rename then .prg and they will load up.. not the vsf.gz files they are compressed. Hope this helps someone..
