the joystick does not work on some games I have downloaded how do I fix this? Probably by adding _J1 to the filename (before the .D64) . But It's hard to say, you're not really providing any helpful info, like which games the joystick doesn't work with.

Manuals are here.. thec64community.online/thread/589/manuals You need to put a _J1 or _J2 in the name of the D64 file so like this... gamename_J2.d64 and the game should work with the joystick, the joystick is on the wrong port for the game, THEC64 use flags to change port flags are _J1 or _J2. or you can do it in a cjm file,it all in the manuals.

Try naming it... ghostbusters_J1.d64 or ghostbusters_J2.d64 and see if that works.

You can now use Project Carousel USB to swap Joystick Ports, when your in the C64 Emulator Press CTRL and Left Arrow(its the key above CTRL and next to the 1 key) at the same time and "JOYSTICKSWAP" will come up on screen to show its swapped ports, no need to put j1/j2 in to the D64 file now..
