Hi all, Would just like to introduce myself i'm new to the boards and have had an original commodore 64 back in the day which leads me straight into my problem, as i said i had a commodore 64 many moons ago and enjoyed the loading screens/music and loading games (sometimes) which is why i prefer to load the .tap images instead of the disks. I am currently stuck for ideas though how to change the tape side to play a multi tape game, i can virtually eject the tape by pressing fire on eject but cannot replace it for "SIDE B", am i missing something completely obvious or is there no current way of doing this, many thanks, Shadz.

From the Manual, don't know why they did it this way,you can't load side 2 in...
"A standard virtual tape file, used
to store programs,
e.g. slowloader.tap.
Note that tape can be the
slowest method available, taking
several minutes to load a tape
file. Tape files are auto-loaded
on THEC64."

What games do you want to work,put them in here and I see what I can do..  I have had a idea of making a new TAP file Add Tap side 2 to Tap side 1 so its one Tap file .. Tested it with Chase HQ.. So use Audiotap to copy them to WAV so you have Chase HQ Side 1 .Wav and Side 2.Wav then use a Audio program to add them together like Adobe Audition to copy the waveform from side 2 wav to the end of Side 1 waveform then save it as a wav file then convert it to a TAP file using Audiotap,in the 80s I would use C90 cassettes to put loads of programs on so why can't you just make the Tap file bigger.. Just tested it and the Tap file of Chase HQ works,just loaded it on THEC64. |

This is Chase HQ for the C64 as one TAP file, when it says side 2 don't just press space bar and it should load the next level. Hope it works it should.. (When downloading it rename the file to Chase HQ (1989)(Ocean Software).tap) Chase HQ (1989)(Ocean Software).tap |
