I noticed a weird thing on my Maxi. I set it to boot to "classic mode" instead of the caroussel. Then I wanted to play Boulder Dash. But I got no further from the initial screen where you must click a joystick button to start. I supect the joystick setting (in which port it is supposed to be inserted) is wrong at this point. To test the connection to "classic mode", I changed the boot mode to the caroussel, rebooted, and then indeed I could play Boulder Dash again. Then I went to "classic mode" and back again, and then I couldn't. I didn't try other games, but they might be affected as well. I suspect this is something like settings not being reset to defaults after leaving "classic mode"... or perhaps even after some other games. I didn't test this either.

Dammit! Now you've gotten me hooked on Boulderdash again! I don't see this behaviour, when I boot to Classic mode, exit to the carousel and start Boulderdash I click the joystick button twice and the game starts. Did you make any changes to the BOULDER-DASH.TSG?

Did you make any changes to the BOULDER-DASH.TSG? Interesting! Now that I tried it again today, I could not reproduce it anymore. So maybe I saw a ghost, or the problem is more complex. Before I tried it again, I thought there might be a difference in firmware version (I have not upgraded yet and still have 1.3.0-amora running). I only changed the root password via the UART. For the rest I only "looked around".

Sorry to bump this post. But the above is easily to reproduce. If you use ONLY the keyboard to navigate (in caroussel or usb drive with shift arrow-left) and then when the game starts you use the joystick for the very first time, then your joystick won't work. I contacted support a while back and they said if you only use the keyboard to navigate and start a game, it's default to use the keyboard in the game as well, so the joystick won't work. EDIT: but what really happens in the background, is that the joystick ports are swapped. If you set Boulderdash on port2 for the joystick (or a game like BruceLee), you can use the joystick even if you navigated and started the game with only the keyboard I'm not sure if all this is a feature or a bug
