Hey this is my last chance to "fix" the C64 mini. As the Tread says it cant my usb memory on the C64-mini so i can upgrade the firmware. I have read on many other places im not the only one but still no solution to the problem, i have try many diffrent USBsticks and micro card with converter i have also try'd to format in a Mac computer and even download a format program to do the work (https://www.partitionwizard.com/feedback/install-partition-wizard.html?from-free-v11 and also www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/index.html) and all the solution i have found is still now working I have try to insert the stick after i have started the C64 no luck there (i have also swaped to the other port) next i have try to install it before i power it on and still no luck. Not sure if it helps u any thing but this is what i can see in the system info. Build the C64-1.0-8-argent. Build date 08-05-2018 xxxx I really hope that here is many bright and cleaver people here Cheers.

There are two things that you need to get right for theC64 to recognise the USB drive: - It needs to use the partitioning scheme MBR
- The filesystem needs to be FAT32
To do this on a Mac: [/a].[/ul] On a Windows PC: [/a] with the following settings: You can then delete the extra files that are on the USB drive and use it for TheC64.[/ul]

********************************** Thank for a quick replay. Sadly it did not work. I did try 8 different memory first i did install em and then power up / next i did the opposite start first and then install USB. Did try out USB sticks from the sixe of 8 GB to 64 GB some USB 2 and some USB 3 -but still no luck the It could be nice if some one else had the same issue before and managed to solve it. Report it here like type of memory / size/ USB2 or USB3 / Brand and so on thank.

I'm sorry, I don't speak Swedish/Norwegian/Danish very well. But from the last sad smiley I gather it doesn't work yet?

What makes of Flash drives are you using?
I did have this issue when I first got my mini, it just wouldn't detect the flash drive when formatted through the Windows formatter. I used SDCardFormatter and that solved the issue for me. I see you have already tried that though. The flash drive I use is a simple 16GB Sandisk Cruzer Blade USB 2.0.
Also, how are you powering the device? If you're powering through a TV USB port then it may not be drawing enough power to also power the flash drive. Use a power adapter (phone charger) and make sure it only outputs 5V. DO NOT use any "fast/quick" chargers (9V output) or you could potentially damage the mini. Make sure it outputs 1amp or more. 1.5 - 2amps would be preferable.
Is the joystick working okay? If not, that could indicate a problem with the mini's USB ports.

Well the brands i used was Sandisk Cruzer blade , Sandisk Ultra 8 GB - 32 GB both USB2 and USB 3 , also a kingston Datatraveler G4 16 GB. And for the power i use a phone charger 5v /1A. As for the joystick its working great , did try to shift port and joy still good but USB no

Have you got access to another phone charger? One rated at 1.5 - 2 amps?
Because the USB ports are working fine, it sounds like there is something you're not doing correctly.
Have you made sure it's definitely formatted as FAT32 and not exFat or NTFS?
Try using SD Card Formatter again, that 100% worked for me with the Cruzer Blade.
When did you buy the Mini? You could try contacting Retrogames and tell them you've tried everything, and see if they'll accept it back for repair. Or return it as faulty from where you purchased it.

Have you tried using the "full format" option in SD Card Formatter, instead of quick format? It'll take a lot longer than the quick format, but it might work. If you're using the same Cruzer Blade as me, then there is no reason it shouldn't work.
Try full format and let us know if that works.

If there is a EFI partition on the stick, it will also not work in thec64 You will need to "clean" it with Diskpart.
