Sorry for asking this here, as this might have come up in a Facebook discussion already, but as I refuse to enter Facebook... Reading through the Manual for the C64 "Maxi" I see that they have added a system to have Multi-Disk-Games working (see page 58 in the manual). Have Retro Games made any announcements to backport these into the Mini? "What manual are you talking about?" - This: retrogames.biz/thec64/support/manuals-thec64By the way, there IS already a 1.3.1 update for the Mini with SOME of the enhancements of the Maxi, especially on controllers. Has anybody done any in-depth check on this? Cheers, Boris

Yeah you can swap disks by using Media Access if you press the menu button on the Joystick in a game, is where the Virtual Keyboard is on the C64 Mini, its looks like a updated version of the USB Loader, Don't see it been added to the TheC64 Mini anytime soon, But I can swap disks anyway on the C64 Mini.

Yeah, but if you read the manual, they have extra parameters now for save games to be ALWAYS associated with the first disk. This solves the multidisk problem (because right now a Save on Disk 2 will not be loadable if you are on Disk 1). Have not checked whether that works on the Mini - and probably wont because I modified my Mini to use Xbox wireless gamepads and added games to the carousel and I have not seen any reports what happens when I update to 1.3.1.
As far as I can see the Media Access is NOT available on the Mini. It would be very nice if somebody backports it into the Mini. I see no reason why it should not be available but to have people buy the full size machine...
Cheers, Boris

added games to the carousel and I have not seen any reports what happens when I update to 1.3.1. doc bobo? my own carousel entries survived the 1.3.1 firmware upgrade although the upgrade sounded destructive (adding a new game and changing some tsg configs)

The work around I have found is to find a 1581 rom or make one in an emulator and combine the discs of the game onto it. I managed to get Battletech working this way. This makes disc swaps less of a pain.
