Hi all,
I've searched around the forum and Google and haven't found much info.
But are people exploring the possibility of getting GEOS running on the C64 mini?
What would be the main challenges of doing so?
I'm very new to the C64 Mini and the C64 itself, I'm looking forward to your responses and seeing how far people want to take the Mini, just gaming... or beyond.

While technically you can get it up and running and the VICE code inside the Mini would support Geos, you are missing mouse drivers as well as any kind of user interface for good disk swapping (that's why you see some complex games not working well on the Mini, unless somebody hacked a CRT version instead of a Multi-Disk-Version). And Geos without diskswapping or a Drive 9 is just nothing more than a tech demo.
Maybe with the release of the "Maxi" we will see firmware updates that solve the diskswap problem and MAYBE we get mouse support. But I would definitely not count on it.

Thanks for your response. I'm keeping an eye on Maxi developments very happy with the Mini. So happy I wouldn't mind a Maxi.

Hi all,
It would be great to get the c64 maxi firmware support for usb windows 10 compatible mouse. i can't imagine how great would it be to play lemmings or the maniac mansion using mouse on the c64 mini or maxi. i'm happy to beta test mouse with the c64 maxi if anyone is willing to tweak the firmware. i've tested so far lenovo, hp and logitech wired usb mice and none of them work in the carousel interface, or with the above games. the mice are powered, since the red light under all of the above mice glows....
