Hello. My wife got me a C64 mini for Christmas. I've just gotten around to tinkering with it over the last few days. I have hooked up a four port USB hub, a couple of iNNext control pads, and USB keyboard and a flash drive and have had no hardware issues what so ever. Little thing does really well, actually. I am on the latest firmware version (1.2) and have problems running just two games that I would like to get running.
I cannot seem to find a working version of Congo Bongo (disk version, not cartridge; the one with the more arcade like graphics) and the Atari 2600 port of Yars Revenge called "Jars Revenge" for the C64. The disk version of Congo Bongo will give me a "disk error" after the splash screen but before I actually can play the game. Jars Revenge will allow me to get all the way to the game screen but then lock up with only partial screen showing. Any help with these two games would be appreciated. I have searched for a few days on google for similar problem statements and cannot come up with anything.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the very useful response. I will give this a try when I get home from work this evening.

So, I downloaded Congo Bongo (at least the version I think you described) from www.c64.com/games/2351 and it works on my C64Mini with NTSC and Accurate Disk settings applied. As for Jar's Revenge, the cartridge image I have works fine without any special settings. However, I am using an NTSC C64Mini, if that matters in any way. I can't recall where I got the Jar's Revenge image, but there's one available here. Also, here's a link to my high score

Monty On The Run, that's good news. I didn't get to mess with it last night, but I will post my results on this thread as soon as I do. I also have a NTSC mini, so I should be able to replicate your results, maybe not your high score though.

Yes NTSC may be also a good solution. I forgot about it because I have PAL.

Thanks for all the great advice. Thanks to the cjm config file, I now have a perfectly working copy of Congo Bongo, and I now have a working copy of Jar's Revenge thanks to Monty On The Run's link. Thanks everybody for the awesome help. I'll probably be working on that Jar's Revenge high score for quite some time, though. Lol.

Glad it all worked out! And, yes, I was really quite happy with that high-score. "Monty On The Run" is supposed to be my forum ranking, I think. I'm not sure how this forums rankings all go, but maybe someday I'll get to "Bruce Lee" status. David.

Oh hell, sorry about that Virtualsky (David). I see I was referring to you by your status and not your name. My bad. Thanks again for all the help!
