Hello.
I'm afraid I've only the grim news.
I waited for the machine for weeks and it finally came. Yeah! I unpacked everything, connected as described in the manual and...... nothing.
The machine is completely dead.
I used 4 different power sources (5V, 1A, as described). 4 power cables (including the original). 4 HDMI cables (including the original). 2 monitors: a huge flat TV-set & a computer monitor with HDMI cable.
I saw it coming ON for a short moment TWICE. The second time it showed a "language choosing" screen but when I just touched the cables - it went dead again.
What's most strange - the manual says it should start working by itself, without switching ON. But it does not. All 2 times I had to press the ON/OFF button (and hold it for a veeeeeeeeeeery long time to obtain any effect).
Seems like they mounted it in a sh*tty way and the connectors are broken (might be also badly mounted ON/OFF switch, I dunno).
Has anybody encountered anything like it? Can anybody help me? I had soooooo much hopes related with the Mini and I'm genuinely p*ssed-off that I have to return it (and possibly not get another one because if one came from a factory destroyed, others might too). And I really wanna make it WORK and use it. Arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! Heeeeeeeeeeelp!!! :-( :-(
Regards.

If you live in the UK and need to send it back, try buying one from Smiths Toy Shop or Argos as you can change it for another the same day you buy it. That's if the shop is local of course... Chances of another being faulty are very slim. £50 at Argos: www.argos.co.uk/product/8339515

Bad luck. RMA it and I'm sure the replacement will be good.

Can you take photo of how TheC64 Mini looks, would anyone try to copy a TheC64 Mini and make a fake one..??
Where did you buy it from.. ? I have two of them, the Silver Label Pre Order Version and Engraved Label Version and they work fine.

Thanks a lot, guys - I had nothing to loose, so I just gave it to a friend who fixed it. Now it works normally.
What was it? - you might ask. Like I suspected the POWER micro-USB was badly soldered (not a nice surprise for a beginner-user) - my friend fixed it quickly. I already re-flashed it with the new firmware, so everything is OK.
Again, thank You for Your interest.
PS: I didn't suspect the computer is SO cute - looks far better than on videos. :-P

Glad you sorted it out and it wasn't to much of a pain in the butt to fix. Have fun!
