I made demake of C64 Max Headroom demo ( csdb.dk/release/?id=26784 ). Now it is animated 120x80|75px Max Headroom avatar, two versions: with & w/o background. (I shortened background a bit, because of better scaling and it looked too much dark imho) At first I wanted to make set of Max avatars, because there are 5 versions of it: blue and gray (originals), gray with yellow, double Max, Max 9 (nine "tv screens"). I am not sure anymore, because of scaling - it could be blury for double and 9. Still, grey has same frames but different animation (much more interesting imho). Tell me which version do you like more (or if you equally like it, or do you like it at all), so I could make grey version (with different animation). I could add "stand" to framed version above, so it will look like TV (or lcd monitor)

Max Headroom blue and grey version, 150x94 edit: and interlaced ("tv") version. Effect cost 1kB (29kB instead 28), not bad. edit2: Added Grey-i mirror (it is more natural to look at right, at the forum posts) and made recompression of all pics. Blue is now 134,3 kB (134344 bytes), Grey only 27,1 kB (27124 bytes), Grey-i 28,8 kB (28799 bytes), Grey-i mirror 28,9 kB (28876 bytes).

spannernick, here is one gift for you, to cheer you up: I hope you'll like it. What is better for background of your avatar then Blue Max airplane, spinning in your glory (and glory of C64 revival, of course)? Unfortunately, "Rule, Britannia!" tune that belongs to it could not be attached to gif, but we'll pretend it is here. And here is another jewel of Synapse Software, just for the love of all Englanders around... Zeppelin, holding banner of our beloved community. Some tech info: Animation contains 377 frames that I managed to crush it to 190kB, without losing details or visible noise artefacts (because of 8-bit color reduction). At one point working file was 22MB! Interesting fact: original jpg is 28kB, but ani-gif with added Blue Max animation only is just 23kB! I managed to retain original Blue Max animation, but I had to make Zeppelin travel double speed, because of banner behind - it will be too slow otherwise. 2nd version is of double speed, 189 frames, 87kB only. It is heavily optimized, but is losing some minor fine details of beautiful original drawing. I am still discovering magical wisdom of GIMP's AnimStack sorcery. Many spells to learn...

I will adjust it for you as you wish, just ask. Btw: Won't you think we should update generic "empty" avatar logo with some snowflakes falling, like those one I made here?
