I've seen some YouTube footage about the US version of the mini, and it seemed to me that the chassis colour has been "fixed", it is now very close to the original, as opposed to the initial EU version which had a prominent "yellowed" nuance to it. Can you confirm?

I thought mine was a bit funny,it's the same colour as my Hearing Aid... Look at this video, some C64 breadbin cases are not the same size or colour. Did you know there was Fat and Slim C64 Breadbin Cases..? They have copied the Fat C64 Breadbin for the EU version of TheC64 Mini. Found more evidence that TheC64 Mini is the right colour for Europe... My box for my C64 has the picture of the C64 on it and has got a hint of cream to it,this is the box they copied. And here is a advert from a Argos Catalog in 1983/4 from the UK and its has a cream C64 Breadbin, same colour. Uploaded a better picture. So it was not gray in the UK or Europe at the time but Cream and TheC64 Mini uses the Fat version too.

My PAL breadbin is not the tan it was when new, but yeah it was always a Viking skin colour, as in slightly yellow brown like the promo picture. Our homes are smaller in Europe than the USA so most of our machines were sat closer to the window which made many of them even more yellow than they used to be ha!

My own "breadbox" C64s were (still are: not much yellowing going on luckily) the same colour of the American Mini, as well as all my friends' machines that I can remember of; I don't think I ever saw any "creamy" PAL C64 in the flesh. This was anyway the later production, with the slimmer case (mine are 1984-1985). I do prefer this colour anyway.

I do have a picture of mine as I was modifying it and it looks gray so it was gray. and here is a Picture from another Argos Catalog from the same year,Winter 1984,if you look at 1983 they are selling the Vic20 that year so they started selling C64 in the UK in 1984. and here is a pic of the Competition Pro wow only £11.99 and a Cheeter 125+ £7.99... Anyone remeber VHS hehehe (Argos 1985) So it was gray Dam..I should of known but I didn't notice, how many did, well some people did. So now you know how many people are happy with there TheC64 Mini EU version..?? I did think wow TheC64 Mini is the same colour as my Hearing Aid...

WOW loads of retro goodness! For a moment I thought you had a C16 haha! Nothing wrong with having one as I have a fair few and a couple Plus/4's for good measure. Nice to see the Codemasters CD box set, I can't get mine working guessing it might be modern CD players being quiet compared to the old 1980's one. It's stashed for another day any way. I guess one of my holy grail's is Ninja Remix on cartridge and only because you can have awesome SID music by a flick of a switch lol. I also have an original SEALED copy of Turrican on TAPE that has never been used, I've never thought about putting a price on it or what it might be worth as it's just nice to have - as you do. I paid a pound for it many years ago and as I already had it it's stayed sealed. Nice to have a Turrican box without any marks on it any way. You look busy with your collecting though and some cool stuff in the collection like Giana Sisters which goes without saying. That Electron is waiting for you to load Thrust haha! I never liked the C64 version of Thrust - music was ace tho, was better on the BBC and what I would say is the original. I didn't like the color's of the C64 version but love Thrust as a game. Thanks for sharing any way.
