Hello!
Does anybody know if the C64 Maxi supports MagicDesk2 8Mb (1MB) cartridges? I have a digital version of a cartridge of a game in CRT format that I try to load, but after a few seconds I am back to the blue screen with READY and nothing happens... Is there any alternative ways to load these types of CRT files on Maxi?
As far as I know later versions of Vice are capable of running this CRT, so this might be only a versioning thing.

I'm not familiar with MagicDesk formats but I think there's a thread on here talking about using them. If there is, don't know if they're an earlier format with smaller ROM sizes? I'd do a search for any threads on Magic desk.

The c64 maxi only has USB ports as the MagicDesk2 8Mb (1MB) cartridges uses the cartridge slot on an original C64. |

Thanks for the replies. I am aware of that the cartridge doesn't physically plugin. I am using the digital "CRT" image file of the game in my Maxi. That's why I am interested what could be the problem it doesn't recognize the game.
I did a search for any threads on Magic desk, but unfortunately did not find anything relevant. However I know the VICE emulator supports MagicDesk2, but you aren't sure which version of VICE is in the emulator, and if that version is supposed to support 1MB cartridges?

The version of VICE that TheC64 uses is 2.4, if that helps you.
