Hey, sorry if this gets posted constantly. I didn't see it anywhere. Does anyone know if there's going to be a restock in the USA of The C64 (Maxi)? I missed out on it when it was first released and don't want to pay $400 to a scalper, buy a fake, or import a UK one. Is there some way I can get a notification somewhere when it's available again? The Retro Games Ltd site doesn't really help, and otherwise I just get Amazon (none) and eBay results. The mini seems to be available, but the Maxi doesn't. When they come out with whatever full-size Amiga console they have in mind, I'm going to be grabbing that right away (hoping for an A500 or A1200!).

Amazon has restocked the US C64 Maxi at least two or three times so I'd just search there every once in a while. If I remember right too once when it was restocked it didn't pop up easily in the search listings, so make sure you do a thorough search using several different key words. When the Amiga Maxi is released I expect some people will sell off their C64 maxi to buy one since I'm sure people will modify the firmware to also run C64 software and some won't feel like need to have both a C64 and Amiga replica with a working keyboard because they are just casual users or simply don't have the space to keep both.
Another option is to buy yourself a Raspberry Pi 400 or Orange Pi 800 for emulating the Amiga and other retro hardware. Both have the classic wedge look and shape of an Amiga or C64C and make great retro platforms. Some people even put stickers on they keys to mimic the proper C64 or Amiga keyboard legends. The Orange Pi even goes the extra mile with both an HDMI and VGA ports for using older CRT or LCD monitors without needing an adapter dongle, although those are pretty cheap anyway to buy at like $10 to adapt HDMI to VGA. It also has built in storage and a few other nice features the 400 lacks, but of course the Pi has much better software support.
Check into a few turn key Amiga and C64 images such as PiMiga (it's more than just games but also includes an extensive amount of other Amiga software and even modern utility or online tools) or Tomato (many say it's the best Amiga and C64 low hassle gaming image ever built for the Pi). Both have a ton of already preconfigured setups on them like keys mapped to extra buttons on a modern controller, hardware and acceleration set properly for different Amiga games, etc.
No doubt though the the minis and maxis have their own appeal too, for not just the replica case but a unique frontend that's about as easy to use as it gets for even casual users who aren't necessarily a big Commodore (or Atari in the case of the 400 mini) fan.
