I would like to play some of my games on the go on my steam deck. It runs Vice 64x under Retroarch. Any idea how I can use my saves from TheC64 over there?

If the steam deck Vice is also v2.4 then you should be able to load the gamesaves (from the snapshot menu). You might need to unzip them first.

Retroarch works with "states", and I actually have no idea how to convert a vsz file into a digestible format. I tried a few things. Seems like Retroarch uses the Vice core but somehow handles save files differently 🤷♂️.

They are just *.state Files, creating one and renaming an exported file from TheC64 didn't do anything. Also, there are *.vsz and *.mta files on TheC64, and the vsz files can be used packed or extracted. No idea what would be the right thing to do.
