hi, thanks lasttape, i don’t have any of the old hardware unfortunately, just the game on a tape. I’ve been trying to record the sound from the tape to pc and converting the wav sound into a emulator type file like a t64 file but up to now unsuccessfully.

Have you tried a program from site: wav-prg.sourceforge.io/ ? I guess it is all about volume level and audio quality how to be successfull.

You need a Potable Cassette Player with a MiniUSB on it, like the small Record(Vinyl) Players with built in USBs, its like a Walkman, like this...(see pics below and link to Amazon, eBay), I used one of them before to copy a C64 game on tape(Cassette) to the PC as a wav file then a tap file then used FinalTap 2.7 Beta 2(Below) to fix it so it loaded in VICE. This one is like mine but mine is a TECHNAXX www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204358931447www.amazon.co.uk/Technaxx-DigiTape-DT-01-Converter-Silver/dp/B004SBBJ2AFinalTap 2.7 Beta 2 ============== FinalTAP is a free tool for examining, cleaning and restoring digitized data cassette tapes (TAP files) for the Commodore 64 computer. Five years in development, FinalTAP is the original "format-scanning" TAP file analysis and restoration tool. Driven by huge demand from retro-gamers and enthusiasts from all over the world wishing to preserve their rapidly-decaying 1980's cassette based software for future generations to marvel at and enjoy, the FinalTAP project slowly became a reality. Cassette tapes were easily the most common format for computer software in the UK in the 1980's and their slow loading times were typically made more bearable by the inclusion of "loading music" and pictures, even mini-games that could be played whilst waiting for the game to load. Accurate preservation of this novel and historically important medium was simply essential. General Program Features... - Cleans and restores TAP files to perfect "factory" condition. - Supports 40 tape file formats + many variations. - Verifies all contained data where checksums are available. - Export data from TAP files as regular binary. - Built-in 6502 Disassembler. Download - HereYou can download Audiotap 2.2.1 for Windows and use it to copy the tape from the Potable Cassette Player plugged in to the PC via its USB port too so it converts it straight into a tap file too, if it has problems loading in VICE then use FinalTap 2.7 Beta 2 to fix it.
