Hi all, just recently got a c64 mini. Have updated the firmware and was able to sideload games without issue via a USB stick...bar one. Street Fighter 2. I've tried multiple ROM files .d64 .tap etc all without success on the mini. Have been able to load the same files without issue on VICE emulator on PC. Has anyone had any success getting this game to work on the mini? It seems to load the initial screens for enabling cheats etc but thereafter just a blank screen, have left it for 10+ mins to make sure its just not a long load time. Have tried in NTSC and PAL modes with and without fastload enabled. Can anyone advise how and if it is possible to run this game on the mini? Thanks.

Wow think this is the first game I've heard of that won't run on the mini or maxi? It'll be interesting to hear what issue might be causing it.

Yeah its odd as I have had zero issue getting any other games to run on it. Would you be so kind as to try running it on your Mini or Maxi c64stuff just to make sure its not me doing something wrong? |

I don't have my mini set up at the moment. Been messing around with my RetroPie setup as of late, but once I'm done cleaning house and organizing the mini will be set up again. Right now it's stored away in a box. Hopefully somebody else can try it for you.

Have you tried to run it with Accurate Disk, so like game_AD.d64, its True Drive Emulation in VICE some games need it so it can load it.

And if their suggestions don't work, next step maybe would be to try running the exact same older version of Vice on a PC. If it won't run the game more than likely it's due to the older version of Vice where maybe the game is doing some obscure particularly hardware dependent tricks that the older version of Vice the mini uses isn't able to replicate?
This might be an interesting topic for a thread, if anybody has found a game or demo that won't run on the mini or maxi. Up until now I don't think I've heard of any game that won't run on the newer releases of the firmware, but I think I've heard of a few demos that either wouldn't run or had issues.

Glad you guys got it working. I'm curious why you wanted to play that particular game? Is it a favorite from years ago? I thought I heard all the street fighter games were terrible. But I might be thinking of Double Dragon or some other fighting game?

Nostalgia Nerd video. What went wrong with Street Fighter 2 on the C64. His channel is definitely worth checking out. Amazing retro computer or console videos.
