Has anyone else noticed that when booting in standard firmware mode (carrousel) a USB stick with games etc cannot be accessed anymore? It seems to have happened during the last few updates. I can still access the stick if I change to classic mode so it is not a showstopper. I have a C64 Maxi.

What on PCUAE?
If so then... Yes, it been like that for a while now, I tried to fix it loads of times but it just can't read from the USB from the Carousel's File Browser, its to do with the way it reads the USB Stick, it different to how the USB Media Access Menu reads it, but its not a big problem anyway, you can use USB Media Access Menu in Classic Mode anyway to load Games(d64, Prg and so on).
THEC64 does not need 2 file browsers.
It would be nice if RGL changed the USB Icon on the Dock to point to USB Media Access Menu in Classic Mode, it makes senses now not too, but I guess then never done it cause:
1. it was to hard to change or not beneficial to change it.
2. it would cost them money to change it, each update they make cost them money(they said it in one of there posts on Facebook).

OK. Yes I use PCUAE, but to be clear if I remove that stick and boot to standard firmware I can no longer see games on a USB stick in carrousel mode. I can only see them in classic mode. So it appears that the recent PCUAE updates have modified and made a permanent change to the original firmware. Not a show stopper but now there is no going back until or unless RGL does an update.

My USB Stick reads OK in File Loader from the firmware PCUAE only loads stuff from the USB Stick, it only copies one script to the firmware so it can boot PCUAE from the USB Stick, If USB Stick not plugged in then it loads up the builtin carousel from the firmware. Attachments:
