Hi, I'm having a weird issue, and I'm not sure if its aproblem with my TheC64 Maxi or the USB stick... Running firmware 1.6.1.
I'm running though some assembler tutorials on youtube, so I boot the64 with a supersnapshot cartridge, then once rebooted I load Turbo Macro Pro. If i want to dissassemble the memory using the freeze function (right shift and power button), sometimes when I do this instead of getting the supersnapshot, it gives a screen like I pressed runstop+restore but the text is 'flashing', when I go into the media viewer it says the USB can't be read. If I then do a hard reset (left shift+cbm key and power button, then go back into the media viewer it shows the contents of the USB stick. So not sure if its a problem with the usb or the supersnapshot cartridge file or thec64... anyone else had anything like this happen?
THanks.

There are USB sticks that have issues with the mini or maxi. Do a search here for ones known to work and try that. Also make sure your USB power supply is high enough in amp carrying ability because some say if it's not you can have weird issues on the mini or maxi or even the A500 Mini with USB sticks, game controllers, keyboards (plugged into the mini), etc. Never hurts to try a higher amp rated USB power supply. I think I read somewhere that even using the amp rated one recommended for the minis or maxi will not be enough if you've got certain things plugged in. Probably though it sounds like a glitch from what you're doing.

For the power I'm using an Apple iPhone charger plug.

It could be VICE 2.4, try VICE 2.4 on Windows and see if it does the same thing, if it does then try a newer version like 3.2 and see if it does it, somethings don't work the same as in the real hardware as in a emulator, I know most games work but some demos don't work so if it does not understand what the demo wants it to do cause the code is missing from the emulator, when VICE do not understand something it usually does a CPU jam and then freezes.
it sounds like VICE might be the problem.
