Noted and Thanks. Will try it out! Updated with the patch and 2.1.3b6: 1. It works better. I finally sees the Mode changer screen for the first time! (since i started with version 2.1.1) 2. Able to boot into Amiga and RA mode at one time, but unable to exit and restarting ends back up in Amiga mode, so i do force delete of some files and the Amiga folder to thrash it. 3. Changing to VICE mode ends up in blank screen. Restart also blank screen. 4. CTRL-F1 to change caurosell list, ends up in blank screen again. After restart, it seems ok though and the new list is selected. 5. For some reasons, my 8bitdo Mega Drive gamepad won't work anymore (it works great previously). The 8bitdo Pro 2 still works though. For now, i have givenup all the mode functions. As long some of my gamepads (Xbox360 wired and wireless both works and currently best option for me now since the 8bitdo's Megadrive gamepad don't work anymore). As long can add games to caurosell and my gamepad works (stock firmware has terrible support of gamepad with all the fire buttons mapped to the shoulder buttons), i am sticking to this and not doing anything more. Lastly i have just one question, how do i run the PCUAE_Amiga? I don't see it as a mode in the mode list. Thanks for all your efforts to update this. Much appreciated.

Greetings everyone, In short, similar issues that matrixlyn mentioned above (using newly formatted USB stick and latest releases). 1. RA & Amiga mode hate me. Starts to load, intro music stops and that's as far as I gotten. Never loaded into those emulators. 2. When selecting a new Favorite list I get a blank screen. Need to do a hard reset (reboot) and then it works, even VIC games/emulation. To me, the newer release feels "heavier" as far as load times go. Understood for course as lots of development and changes have been made, sideloading all these cool features etc. I guess at the end of the day, I just want to fire up my machine, play a game or two without feeling like its taking forever to load up (how spoiled we've gotten since the good old days of 5 1/4" floppy disks banging away on that 1541) lol On a personal note, I use my Maxi for c64 gaming and maybe some VIC games (on rare occasions). That being said, I am probably the exception here too. I dont really care much for all the other emulators, as cool as they are, I also gave up on them. For all other retro (console) gaming, I fallback to my raspberry pi and rock out. Quick, simple and instant gratification. We got spoiled with all this new technology Thank you again for all the amazing work and effort you have all put into this! Its much appreciated.

I have the same feeling about this.
When I have time, I want to play with it.
Usually it crashed or it took a very long time to start up.
Then I was already done with it.
In itself PCUAE is a very nice piece of software, but because of all the "problems" I gave up a long time ago.
Oneload is a very nice collection that you can play from USB and that works well and always.
Reason for me not to use PCUAE anymore.
also only play C64 games and still buy them when something new comes out.
I still follow the forum and have a lot of respect for the developers who put so much time and effort into this piece of software.
Thanks again for that too!

Thanks again for that too! Same. I gave up on this. There's just too many bugs and i am afraid i might screw up my c64 Maxi eventually. Maybe i will buy an Orange Pi H3 to play with it next time. And the boot time of PCUAE is just too slow which i think is because of the USB 2.0 connection bottleneck and there's no easy solution for this. For now i will stick to the stock firmware since i have managed to configure my gamepad to more or less what i want. Still appreciate all the efforts of the developer. Definitely lots of time and passion went into doing this. Btw, thanks for tip on OneLoad. I have been experimenting with loading different files on the c64 and crt is definitely my favorite AFAIK.

I totally understand a bottleneck due to the USB 2.0 architecture but when v1.7.6 took 45sec to load and v2.1.3 takes a whopping 2.5 min, well its not a USB 2.0 issue any more Oneload seems nice, insane selection if you ask me. I'll give it a shot. Looks interesting. To be honest tho, PCUAE does have A LOT of cool features and despite a few bugs here and there, I think its superior to anything else around when it comes to customization, keeping that carousel stock look and feel, etc etc. I will most likely just revert to an earlier stable and faster build until the dev's sort things out. matrixlyn - Orange Pi seems to be the best value for your money if your looking at building a low budget retro gaming rig for 80's-90's consoles. My suggestion, go with Batocera and you wont regret it. They support other hardware and platforms as well. I have it on both rpi4 and and x86 (7 year old i5 laptop). At some point I may just Frankenstein my theC64 and drop a modern mobo in it.

Old PCs can only load up to Dreamcast. For PS2/PS3 etc, a modern PC with more powerful hardware is needed, which is why i have it on my main rig as well. It's fantastic! Especially loading Amiga games...just so frustrating setting up WinUAE but batocera seems to makes it much easier. The reason for targeting an Orange Pi (specifically Pi H3 if i am not wrong) is because i read the c64 Maxi is actually based on that, so i wanna play with a copy of the firmware on it and sees what happens. Maybe even can install PCUAE on it. But maybe not now, i am too busy learning to code my Spectrum NEXT NGO and playing games on the C64 Maxi.

Must admit i have stayed on PCAUE 1.8.5bf10. as it loads quite quickly as everything works except for network mode unfortunately of which was added in the next release. Spent too much time on trying fixes so will be staying on this version for now on the VIC 20 & Maxi. I do however use a later version on my mini that adds Vic 20 support from the carousel. Maybe have a different version of PCAUE for the different machines so the bugs can be ironed out quicker as not everyone gets problems at the same time.

Just glad to hear I'm not the only one that uses this for VIC and C64 games I'm sure as time goes by this will only PCUAE will get only better. I reverted back to the latest ver 1.7.9 (major release v1.7.8, 1.7.9 was a patch). Loads up in about 45 sec and is good enough for what I need (c64 and vic games)
Did not know they use the same hardware! That is cool! Has anyone tried actually porting it over?

Hello, I have a problem with the caroussel start on my THEC64 Mini. After installing the version 2.1.4 on my USB-Stick, I exported the Favorites_1 with PCUAE-Manager 2.7.2 to the usb-stick. I did the fake-update und installed the bootloader but after restart it says it has no games found in games-caroussel/games and restarts with the firmware caroussel. From there I got the message that my usb-stick is not readable. I tried it with two different sticks, one of them worked fine with a earlier Version of PCUAE (about one year old) on the same THEC64 Mini.
Am I missing something? Are there any log files?

Applied Patch V3.1.417, but again I got only the message, that there are no games found in games-caroussel/games. But I exported the Favorites_1, moved them manually in every other folder with "games" in the pathname. No possibility to start the PCUAE, it goes to the firmware caroussel and says, my usb-stick is not readable.

Version 2.1.6 still says I have no games in the caroussel folder. I exported Favourites_1 with the latest manager to the USB but my C64-Mini doesn't like PCUAE. Only the own firmware-caroussel.

Are you put Favourites_1 in the Games folder on the root of the USB Drive, it should find it if you put it in there...?

Are you put Favourites_1 in the Games folder on the root of the USB Drive, it should find it if you put it in there...? Hi, I put the Favourites_1 there with PCUAE version 2.1.4 this didn't help. Since the file "PLEASE_READ.txt" says: `PCUAE-USB:\PCUAE\Carousel_Games\Games` and file "Use PCUAE Manager to export Games in this folder.txt" says: "Favorites 1 needs to be exported from PCUAE Manager in to PCUAE-USB:\PCUAE\Carousel_Games\Games to stop PCUAE booting into Firmware Mode" I was confused and used the default folder from the pcuae-manager with the versions after 2.1.6. Now i tried the Games folder with V2.1.6 and now I can boot from USB. What I am missing now is the "CTRL+LEFT SHIFT+F7 - The Carousel Gamelist Loader - it allows you to select a gamelist folder to load up on TheCarousel." It does the same as CTL+F7 I have to change the Gamelist with CTRL+F1
