Hi all,
Hope you can advise... I've a recently purchased C64 Mini, but the power light comes on (but not HDMI signal) when I plug it in, without pressing the button?
So to get it to work I have to unplug it and replug it?
Has anyone else had this issue?
Addiitonally... I've a 2n'd C64 mini where the power does not work at all, was working ok but will not power on, any others had this trouble too?
thanks.

If you leave the power cable in THEC64 Mini and turn off the socket that the power adapter is in and then turn it on again then THEC64 Mini will come on by itself, you can only turn it off and then on again if you do not interrupt the power so like unplug the power cable and plug it in again, then it will come on by itself, its based on A20-OLinuXino-LIME that turn on if you plug the power cable in if its power adapter is powered(socket on the wall is turned on) or if you turn its power adapter off and on again.

Sorry not sure I understand all of that…my A500 mini works fine? I have a remote power switch as the plug is not accessible. Every time I turn the power on the c64 mini LED shows power however is does not send HDMI signal to TV… I have to unplug it and plug it back in again? Why does it do this? Seems a shoddy design flaw if you can’t switch off at mains without this happening? Why should I have to unplug it and plug it back in every time? I would like it to simply turn on with the small button or at least if it’s powered on to send a signal to the TV? All of my other minis behave as they should do Attachments:

I’ve now resolved this by buying an in line micro USB switch like I use with my Pi4. Still a faff compared to other minis and a definite design limitation.

THEC64 Mini PAL/NTSC Argent/Shield automatically comes on if you plug the power cable in them if there is power going thought the cable, mine do, you need to get a USB switch to stop that, like you have done... THEC64 Maxi is better and has a faster SoC(CPU) it has a Alwinner H3 and THEC64 Mini has the Alwinner A20(they are ARM Processors like in your mobile phone) and I think it does not switch on by itself, but not sure, my THEVIC20 dose not turn on if you plug a cable with power running though it by itself, only if you press its power button it will come on, so Koch Media fixed it in the newer model, THEC64 Mini was only made to made money for THEC64 Maxi so it could be built. I had a USB switch on my THEC64 Maxi Frankenstein(THEC64 Maxi DIY Version) cause it turned on by itself if you plugged the power cable in, it used a Orange PI PC H3 that THEC64 Maxi main board is based on inside it, you can make your own THEC64 Maxi if you want one, I did post about it on the forum somewhere, its called THEC64 Maxi DIY Version, it acts the same as the real thing and you can even update it, and it has more ram than THEC64 has, it has 1GB ram and THEC64 has only 256 ram(all models), I did at the beginning use it to make PCUAE on, that was like a year and a half ago but I now have THEVIC20 so is the same as THEC64 Maxi. The Orange PI PC H3 is like £30 to £50 and comes from China so if you bought one, they sell them on eBay thats where mine came from and from China so have to wait a bit for it to be delivered, its the cheapest way to get THEC64 Maxi or THEVIC20 cause you can make that too, you can put it into THEC64 Mini case too if you like but will have to workout how to add... On the back - HDMI, MicroUSB port for power, on it right side - 2 USB Ports and Power Button... cause on the Orange PI PC H3 has a different layout for them so might need extension cables for them then glue them in the right place in the case so from the outside it does not look any different. Found the post about it here if you want to check it out... thec64community.online/thread/474/thec64-maxi-diy-versionThe mainboard from THEC64 Maxi does fit into THEC64 Mini case, it even has the places for the 2 USB Posts and Power Button on the Maxis mainboard so you could solder them on it and put it into THEC64 Mini's case.
