Hi Guys I'm having a mare getting the Autoboot function with PCUAAE 1.1.7 with the Amiga A500 mini, no matter what mode i choose it just reboots to the changer screen, ive added Pandory and Aminimiga all the boot up scripts detect both and report the mod is in effect but nothing sticks re autobooting?
Ohi forgot to add that the PCUAAE-Workbench-Mode-Pack-THEA500-Mini-1.1.7-Setup errors at the end around 99% ive tried both the torrent and the direct download, not sure if this impacts it or prevents the workbench mode from working?
Cheers

Hi Darth Ive ran the .exe it extracts the files and both the torrent and the direct d/l error right at the end (around 99%) with an "auX" file missing or something, the bulk of it extracts though, so if i can get a working mode pack you think the setup will hold what boot mode i choose? I've added a screenshot of the error

Ok i'll give that a whirl thanks for the quick response
Update, same error extracting with Winrar that Aux file seems to be the issue? is that actually needed to enable the autoboot feature to work? as thats what im ultimately after Further update..just tried with with 7.zip and it extracted fine? Right ill copy these over and see if i can get the autoboot function to actually work..

Ok so back to the original issue Autoboot is not working, the a500 mini just loops back to the mode changer no matter what mode i select the checking reports Pandory, Aminimiga the built in WB etc are all present and installed, but regardless of which i choose none then boot up once its selected, it just comes back around to the mode changer

Try removing from the usb stick `startup_mode_changer_enabled_for_atari_mode` and then the mode changer will stop loading up, its in `usb:/Carousel_Games/Options/Option_Flag_Files` it creates a Flag File for every mode it runs so knows what to run from boot up.
It looks like when you select a option to change it, its not deleting the file, it should, try scanning the USB Stick for errors, it works ok on my 64GB Sandisk Ultra USB Stick and deletes it.

OK... weird.. can you put this script in `USB:\Carousel_Games\Options\boot` folder please and overwrite the file already there, it had a error in it and see if its ok now...? pcustartupfromfirmware.sh (9.99 KB) And can you send me your log file from `USB:\Carousel_Games\systeminfo` please too.. ?

Do not know, it should work like this, mine does...
The only reason why PCUAAE Autoboot Mode would not work would be if you update to 1.1.0 without installing PCUAAE Autoboot Mode first.

I found a error in the Autoboot Mode Setup `PCUAAE Autoboot Mode First Boot Up` it was making 2 Autoboot scripts in the firmware cause one line had a `t` missing on the end of its line, this is fixed now. Uploading a new version now. Rerun the setup using the PCUAAE_StartUp.LHA file but remove first the file on the root of the USB Stick called `autoboot_fake_update_disabled` otherwise it will skip it, it should refresh Autoboot Mode and remove the other script from the firmware if it's there, so there is only one then reboot PCUAAE. or you could do a clean install but keep all the modes(WORKBENCH_Mode, LINUX_Mode, VICE_Mode folders and so on) and delete all other folder and the PCUAE_Mode folder, that way you do not need to install the Modes again, just reinstall PCUAAE again, WORKBENCH_Mode takes a very long time to install, no pont installing it again if it not needed... A easier way of updating, thats how I do it, thats why I split PCUAE to being with, so you only need to install everything once, if you're updating PCUAAE only then just delete its files and folders only then reinstall it. It uploaded now to Github... github.com/CommodoreOS/PCUAAE/releases

Autoboot is working, its loading The Mode Changer cause you press menu or home buttons. The Mode Changer only activates if you press the Menu or Home Button on the workbench screen, just turn the A500 off and turn it back on and it will load into AMiNIMiga again if you want to come out of it to pick another mode use CTRL+F5 on the keyboard and The Mode Changer will load up, if you want to load the carousel then pick PCUAAE Mode and so on to pick another Mode.
I make this part for people who do not have a keyboard... I made a mistake, in Workbench Mode I say press Menu button when I mean press Home Button(but if you press any of them Amiberry will crash) so to get out of Workbench Mode press Home and pull out the Power cable for 2 seconds then plug it back in and The Mode Changer should come up then select PCUAAE Mode for the Carousel to get out of it.
Or you can use a keyboard, plug the keyboard in before turning on the A500 otherwise the keyboard will not work, then on the Workbench Screen press CTRL+F5 to load the Mode Changer.
So to do things in PCUAAE you need to press Home Button and then the other button so like: Home+X for The Mode Changer and Home+Y for The Carousel Version Changer but you can not do that in Workbench Mode cause Amiberry crashes when you press the Home button(it looking for the carousel thats why, it not running) and kills the kernal and the A500 freeze and only way out is to pull the power out, it's better to use the keyboard.
I made a mistake in the script to it should of reload Workbench when you pressed the menu or home button, but it doesn't.
I understand now, PCUAAE is doing what its meant to do.
