Yes they are ok, I have the carousels loading now on THEC64 Mini NTSC in PCUAE Firmware Mode so it will now work on THEC64 NTSC, you should be able to switch from NTSC to PAL in TheCarousel Version Changer too...

Thanks! But sorry, I don't understand. What am I supposed to do? New version of PCUAE just released, you can switch from NTSC to PAL if you like in the Carousel Changer now, the menu where you can switch to different versions of the carousel. Hey there! Ok, so I tried the latest version, however the same issue is still there (black screen after going to carousel select and picking a different carousel). - The options menu now has all options again, so that is good/fixed. - The swap joysticks (menu+ A or B) also works again now Do I maybe need to do anything else like the carrousel mode or something? The only thing still not working for me is that, black screen after selecting a new carrousel. Edit: Asking, when you say "you can switch from NTSC to PAL if you like in the Carousel Changer now, the menu where you can switch to different versions of the carousel" why would one want to do this? Is this different than the "Computer Model" option of the main menu/factory options?

The options in the menu only switch the emulator to PAL or NTSC not THEC64 Mini itself, this does, so some games can still run to fast on THEC64 NTSC, switching it to PAL will fix that, it loads the nandb from from THEC64 Mini PAL or NTSC when it switches so swaps the firmware.

Ah ok got it. So at first that wouldn't matter then I guess. Anything else I may be able to try, being the issue is still there of black screen and not going back to the carrousel?

Bug fix coming... I think I have fixed it now, I noticed when it was in NTSC Mode in PCUAE Firmware Mode, the carousel would load ok but when you loaded The Mode Changer and then reloaded PCUAE Mode then none of the splash screens would work and the Carousel would not appear, just a black screen, I had to get it to reboot twice before they all came back so figured a way of making it reboot twice then the Carousel works, it would do it too when you loaded the Carousel Gamelist Changer too, weird, but it shows how different THEC64 Mini NTSC is to THEC64 Mini PAL, they do not always work the same... , I am now just hoping it will work on THEC64 Mini NTSC..

Interesting and weird... So with that fix, would it take double time between choosing a carousel and getting back to the menu if it needs to reboot twice? or was that just actions you took until you saw them reappear and now with the fix it just just work normally? As a curiosity, how do you approach the fix? Is it "universal" or is there some detection to know if the machine is ntsc or pal ?

FYI: as I am removing autoboot from previous version before instlaling this one, just commenting that message in the process is a bit confusing, as first you get the message if you want to UPDATE the script, but it also says REMOVE, so I have (Twice already ) selected "yes" thinking it would remove it, until I realized I had to say no to that and then select yes on the NEXT prompt... When you say "need to fix THEC64 Maxi carousel" do you mean you will need to release a newer version with that fix too? I also have a Maxi I have not started using yet, but I think I got that one from UK, so should be PAL (although I was told the Maxi has no such difference as the mini??)

Installed b4, does the autoboot thing, reboots, and now black screen, no carrousel Menu + Right Fire gets me to PCUAE options, but now not even that way do I get back to the carousel, as sometimes not even the options come up... Edit: Adding one more: while manually launching pcuae from stock works, seems Menu + Left fire for carrousel changer does not work anymore. Edit2: Adding log. Not sure if correct because when trying to open first time, windows said the drive had corrupt files, and after fixing the size of log file was smaller.

Editing to clean up... Ok, seems now it's all backwards Booting does not work. I just get a black screen after the splash screens, and the carousel does not appear. I also tried the carousel version changer and selected 1.6.1 shield/ntsc If I boot without the USB, then insert it, and launch PCUAE (fake update) it loads, and not only that but it seems if I go to the carousel changer and pick another one, this time it is working/going back to game select screen. So not sure what is going on, but now changing works but not booting up from power off...

Hmm.. not really sure what that is on your screenshot, as my carrousel changer shows up graphical/thumbnails, but in any case I only have the one right now, "Favourites 1". This page changes the firmware to match the type of your machine you are running. I remember my mini would not launch games and just went to a black screen unless I had previously selected a version that was suited for it. This was quite a few versions back though and was a pal machine. joystick - Menu+Left Triangle Button – Carousel Version Changer – Change to a different Carousel version(1.0.5,1.3.2,1.5.2,1.6.1). Make sure its one for the ntsc mini and not maxi or vic20 Hi, which VERSION option should be chosen for 1.6.1 - MAXI - SNOWBIRD (USA/NTSC) ? There is no snowbird option listed if you invoke ctrl-f3.

Amora should be the same as Snowbird, it uses the same carousel, only difference is Snowbird is on NTSC, if you pick Amora 1.6.1 it should load, I can add Snowbird, first person I have heard of that has a Snowbird, I have a Ares THEVIC20 but should be able to get Snowbird carousel to run on it, if your interested I can add its carousel to PCUAE if you want it? I have to get Snowbird's Carousel from the 1.6.1 update and then hack it so it shows 255 games. Just found Snowbird binary(TheCarousel) that I hacked already so lucky I kept it...

Thank you for the response, are you saying it's fine, or is there an update? I had started another thread, the version I had tried only provided a black screen for CTRL-F1. (I mentioned here: thec64community.online/thread/1519/proper-choices-snowbird-thec64-maxi)I could only get Favorites_1 to load and no other folders (via Carousel) So I'm just not certain of which options to choose to get CTRL-F1 to work, thanks again!
