Yes I am plaining on making a version of PCUAE for THEA500 Mini... PCUAE has just had a baby, its called PCUAAE - Project Carousel USB Amiga Anniversary Edition. Project Carousel USB Amiga Anniversary Edition(PCUAAE) for THE A500 Mini. PCUAAE Autoboot Start-up Script v1.0.0. PCUAAE - Manhattan Skyline v1.0.2 This is for THE A500 Mini or THE A500 Maxi, Its early days yet, THEA500 Mini was released on the 8th April 2022 and not everyone has got there's yet but just wanted to put this out there that this it been made and will get better in time as we learn more about the machine. And as mods get made for it, I will try and add them to it. This will be like PCUAE and use some of it, I will port some of the stuff from it to this, I will not be porting the carousel from THEC64(PCUAE Mode), it was not made for this machine and it should stay on the machine it meant to be for, THE A500 Mini has its own carousel and I do not need to turn it into THEC64 and I want to try to respect Retro Games LTD who made these machines, I will probably port VICE Mode over, we will see. Thanks for reading Spannernick. v 1.0.0 is coming in a few days, it will not do much at the moment but I want to release it so it has a initial release. You be able to load Workbench from a mod save state using USB Media Access and be able to play Simon The Sorcerer Talkie Version(CD32). It will be release here... github.com/CommodoreOS/PCUAE

This is such good news to see more options available so soon after its release, your hard work is amazing bud.
On another note I have just been reading that the A500 mini engine is basically Amiberry 3.3 originaly made by Dimitris Panokostas using Dom Cresswells WHDload booter with other small modifications so it should be able to run about anything. From what ive just read on The Amiga Retropie WDHload group it seems like both the lads were never consulted before RGL used their software of which they are now in talks with regarding making the source code publicy avaialbe. I certainly hope so as it would open up even more avenues for the unit.

At the moment RGL have locked TheCarousel on the A500 Mini and you can not add your own games to it, it has a file in the firmware called resources.bod(bod stands for bobypack, thats why RGL have called the file) so everything is in that file, the 25 games as Amiberry uss save states, all images for the carousel, all the details for each game that appears on the carousel about each game and image that games needs, 2 images of the game that switches between them.
The resources.bod file is a binary file so it needs opening or decompressing so we can see all files in it but we do not know how too yet, you can not do it with 7zip or WinRAR, its using something maybe like the update file uses on THEC64 Mini/Maxi, we can not add any games to TheCarousel on the A500 until this it done.
If anyone wants to help and maybe know about this type of thing PM Me or post on here if you can help with the file.
I was thinking maybe Cyanic could look at the file cause he opened up the update file on THEC64....?

Can you tell me where RGL posted that comment?
The reason I ask is because they've completely ignored all my attempts to communicate with them about obtaining the C64 Maxi's source code.
Based on my experience, their attitude to releasing source code is most definitely not "in line with the GPL".

Its here, add `h` to the beginning of the link, it automatically embeds it into the post so I remove the `h`...ttps://www.facebook.com/THEC64andMoreByRetroGamesLtd/posts/2806353113003245
It looks like to me that the way they made the firmware they are trying to stop all forms of hacking on it that means stopping you adding your own games into the carousel, I think its childish really and if they did send you the source code it would probably be missing parts of it like the carousel(THEC64 Source Code v1.0.5 its kernel is not complete and can not be built), unless the nand didn't have enough room and thats why the files are in one file but do not see that cause they would of used zlib that the slot-0.msz(compressed Amiberry uss savestates) are zip up with, they have to be decompress to tmp/ folder before they can be loaded. THEA500 Mini works the same way as THEC64 Mini, the way the saves and the games on the carousel look like they work the same, well the way it saves the games are the same.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have a facebook account, so I can't directly read the facebook thread. Is it possible you could paste it here? I'd like to understand what prompted RGL's comment.
Also, do you know who managed to obtain "THEC64 Source Code v1.0.5" from RGL? And do you have a link to somewhere where the source code was uploaded to?
Thanks

They only released the source for their version of Amiberry, not the uboot/kernel source.

That's a copy of the THE64 Mini's crippled uboot and kernel and rootfs binaries source that what swingflip obtained by sending RGL £10. It does not have workin uboot and a different nand driver version than RGL used.
