Hi there,
I wanted to buy the mini or maxi.
I use the VICE emulator on my PC. There you can change the frame (border) in the settings or remove it completely to have a total full screen.
Is this also possible with the Mini or Maxi? Since my TV is quite far away, it would be pretty stupid without the possibility.

Yes it's possible to do via file flags but not from your couch. Need to change the file name via computer and then put it on your flash drive. Use _FH after the filename.

Yep! That was me. So you can do it now? I’m gonna give this a try in the morning. If using _FH works, that will be ideal and exactly what I was after. Will report back in the morning.

FH is Full Height, it just stretches the screen so you do not have the black bars at the side like on a wide screen TV so its 16.9 stretched, so it fits properly on a 4:3 monitor, I have read the manual cover to cover, I have the hard back version of it so know THEC64 inside out, well I need to cause of PCUAE so need to know how it works... www.manualslib.com/manual/2023346/Retro-Games-Thec64.html?page=110#manualIf you can do it in WinVICE, you should be able to do it in VICE Mode in PCUAE then, it has all the settings that Carousel dose not have. You can remove the border in VICE Mode but it is still the same size on the screen so the screen is black where the border was, I could look into this and see If I could add a no border mode in VICE Mode but do not know when or even if I can add it cause I have to play around the the screen and if I can get it to the right size so it might not even work, the resolution can be funny on the machines and you can get a ghost screen where you have 2 screens on the screen. How to remove the border in VICE Mode---------------------------------------------Press the Menu button on THEC64 Joystick and go down to Video settings>VICII border mode -> Full> then go down to None and press LFire button and the border will disappear then go back and go down to Settings management and save current settings and it will say Settings saved then press LFire button on the OK button on the screen, then press the Menu button twice to came out of the VICE Menu.

Yeah, I mentioned in my other thread I was dubious about the FH flag after reading the manual. One of those “too good to be true moments.”
With what you say about having no border in VICE leaving a black area where the border would have been, why is that? VICE fills up the whole client area (on Windows anyway, haven’t played with Linux versions), so that should resize to fit the screen in my mind. Maybe it comes down to display types and how they handle different resolutions perhaps.
