Hey Guys,
I am the proud owner of a new The C64 Maxi. I love it! Its like Christmas 1984 all over again. Anyway I wanted to say thanks to all who created and maintaining the PCUAE Project. I am also a supporter and decided to donate a little because its for a good cause and worth it. Amazing!! Thanks It has really has beefed up my machine! I really like the PCUAE manager (ver 2.4.2) and the way you can manage and export games to to Carousel etc.
I have a few questions. I have read through all the help guides but cannot find the answers:
I have managed to get my GameSir GS3 controller working by adding it to the Carousel_Games\Options\Controllers\gamecontrollerdb.txt file. I just cannot get it working in Amiga Mode. It says it finds it but not configured? I also have a USB mini Keyboard and touchpad mouse controller (from Android TV box) which also works on the Carousel but not in Amiga Mode? Do you have any ideas?
How do you exit back to the Carousel Mode when you are in Amiga Mode? It would be really cool if you could CTRL+F5 out but its stuck and cannot exit. It just boots straight in to Amiga mode. Can I edit a file to get me back in to the Carousel Mode? When I switch TheC64 on it just boots straight to Amiga mode.
Thanks. Apologies about all the questions.

The Gamesir GS3 is one of the best controllers out there and at a cheap price too. Plus it's wireless with the use of the included dongle. Can you post the text you added to the config file to get it working?
One thing I keep harping about is the lack of Atari 2600 style joysticks that will work with the mini and maxi. Since many used these joysticks and paddles with the C64 and Amiga there should be a big need for this. The closest in a Atari 2600 clone joystick is the Hyperkin Trooper II with extra buttons on the sides to navigate GUIs. Unfortunately it doesn't work and I haven't tried to alter the config file yet to get it working. Also have the Icode dongle with extra navigation buttons on the box that let's you use Atari plug style joysticks and paddles with USB but haven't tried hard yet to get it working either.
It would be nice if a sticky was started with people posting config text they used to get the mini and maxi working with controllers and joysticks.

I found 4 config files for the controller but I do not know if there will work, they are for udev not sdl so I changed them to sdl, xiaoji_GameSir_G3v.zip (2.57 KB) They are in the zip file and they need to be put into the autoconfig folder in Retroarch under sdl.USB:\Carousel_Games\Options\RA_Mode\retroarch1.7.0\retroarch\autoconfig\sdl USB:\Carousel_Games\Options\RA_Mode\retroarch1.9.6\retroarch\autoconfig\sdl You can do this yourself by looking in the autoconfig folder and look in the folders sdl2, udev and then editing the cfg file for your joystick/controller so the first line that says `input_driver = "sdl2"` `input_driver = "udev"` changing it to `input_driver = "sdl"` and then puting it into the sdl folder in the autoconfig folder. Then it should see the joystick/controller. RA Mode uses sdl and Retroarch uses sdl2 so there are no joystick cfgs files for sdl so you have to make them using sdl2 or udev folders in autoconfig folder, RA Mode does not support sdl2 or udev, only sdl thats because thats what the carousel/firmware uses.

Many thanks for the detailed responses and help. I'm away with work at the moment. I'll take a look when I get back next week and give you some feedback. Thanks again.
