Morning all. I've got a TheC64 MAXI with FW 1.6.1. I'm using a USB stick (32GB Formatted in FAT32 MBR exists) to load games, etc. I'm working with a .g64 file currently. If I copy the g64 file to my USB stick after downloading it and then insert that into the C64, I can see the file the game loads and works no problem.
If I then move the USB stick back to my Windows 10 PC and rename the file to add the _J1 to get the controller to swap ports, the TheC64 no longer shows the file in the browse menu and as such I cannot run it since I can't see it in the list.
Am I just doing something really moronic here? I can still see the renamed file on Windows and Linux on the USB stick, just not on the TheC64. Thanks for any help you can provide and thanks for having me on the forums.

OK, it's funny how when you finally feel like "giving up" on a problem, you start to figure some things out. Replying here in case anyone else does this to themselves. I thought the 256 maximum file limit displayed had been increased in 1.6.1. It appears it was not. Most of the game files I have contain a special character. When I was renaming a g64 file, I'd clean it up, remove the special characters and add my _J1 tag. I'm sure you can now see where the issue was. The folder I was working in initially had over 256 files in it and when I'd take out the special characters, the newly renamed file would sort to the bottom of the list and be past the 256 file limit when sorted, so not visible. /SIGH Have a great Wednesday! -ZeroCrash
