I've installed PCU manager and PCUAE successfully and managed to create and activate a carousel with games I've chosen in the manager (yay!). When I choose many of the games, however, they just open the classic c64 blue screen with no further action as if I've booted into classic mode (doh!). Am I supposed to type something at this point to get them to load? I've searched for this problem but haven't found any answers. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide!

One of the more common problems that cause that I think they said is being in the wrong pal or NTSC mode the first time you try it. Try going back to the carousel and running the game again without switching modes at all. If it works then I think the solution is to save the game state and it will work every time after that, without the need to switch pal or ntsc.

You can use PCUAE Manager to fix the games now, run the game twice to get it to run then save it in the first slot of the 4 save slots, now import the saves into PCUAE Manager and click on Tools and click on `Swap game file and first save state to fix NTSC/PAL issues` then click on save button to finish, if you now export the game back to PCUAE it should work now.
I asked for this to be added to PCUAE Manager cause of this problem.
