Hello!
I recently bought a C64 Mini as a gift and wanted to load up a vic20 game because a family member has fond memories of this game and likes to play it now and then. I managed to get PCUAE up and running and switched the modes, loaded the game pack. The game is already in it, but every time I try to launch it shows me a C64 screen and nothing happens.
I'm not that good with computers but tried to do my best, but I can't find a solution to my problem. Maybe it's not possible to launch a vc20 game on the c64mini via the carousel? I installed Vice mode but as I said, I wanted it to be a simple gift, so my dad can launch it via launcher without the hassle of using a keyboard and using commands, a plug and play type of solution. That's why I bought the mini in the first place.
Any help is appreciated, and I pay respect to the amount of hard work that already went into PCUAE. Very impressive!

Yes, the mini will launch Vic20 games from the carousel with the updated Project Carousel far as I think I've read, but I had only did that on my Maxi and haven't tried it on the mini yet.. It's only when emulating the other Commodore machines that you have to launch Vice. I'm sure somebody will chime in about what your issue might be.

VIC 20 games in the carousel are there for THEC64 Maxi, THEC64 Mini Carousel can not play VIC 20 games, RGL never added the VIC 20 Emulator, there is a update coming from RGL a Xmas update so they might add VIC 20 to the Mini...  . You can if you install VICE Mode and load the games in the Vic 20 emulator. After you have installed VICE Mode, You will need a keyboard. Press and Hold CTRL and F5 key for Mode Changer and then select VICE Mode and then wait for a emulator to load then Hold CTRL and 2 to load VIC 20. |

Oops sorry I was wrong about that! I thought I had read before that you guys had vic20 games launching from the mini carousel now too.

They do show on THEC64 Mini`s Carousel but when you run one of them you get a black screen cause the VIC 20 emulator is missing, I did try and get THEC64 Maxi Carousel working on the THEC64 Mini but it didn`t work cause THEC64 Mini is a armv7 and THEC64 Maxi is a armv8 so THEC64 Maxi Carousel is not compatible with THEC64 Mini.

Thanks for all the support. So, let's hope for a Christmas miracle! If the update does not come in time (or at all) than he has to work with the c64 version of the game. Again, thank you very much for all the information.
Edit: I have a little question. How do I start a game that was installed via PCUAE on USB via the vice (vc20 mode) interface? How do I get access to the USB stick to load the game?
