I just hope they listen to users and add whatever top features they're asking for. Probably the ability to use USB devices like wifi modems without needing to boot up another version of Vice through Project Carousel would be at the top of that list. Because I guess you can use such devices if you do that?
Another I'd like to see is better joystick and gamepad compatibility without needing to tweak the config file. They should have added a TON of those so chances are just about anything you plugged in would automatically work. Especially the more commonly used stuff, like all Logitech controllers, any NES style gamepads, etc.
And how insane is it that they didn't include paddle compatibility (if they didn't)? At least mouse compatibility, so you could use a trackball or paddle that mimics a mouse's output. There's way too many classic games for the 64 that used paddles, such as Arkanoid, Lemans (the Commodore cartridge based game, not the other one somebody made that is called more than just Lemans), etc.
Plus a mouse is a must for the many fans of Geos. Some people even to this day use Geos productivity software to balance their budget or do other things.Way I understand it you can use a mouse by booting another version of Vice through Project Carousel (?) but the stock firmware should support this.
I'd love to also see attract mode, where it would randomly play a video every 30 seconds or so to preview games in your collection. That's one of the main things I do on my RetroPie setup to discover new games to play that look interesting. It's almost better than watching TV. Even if the little computer in the mini and Maxi couldn't handle full screen high resolution video, why not a smaller window with lower resolution? It should be able to handle that. Simply convert any preview videos you have to a less intensive resolution and frame rate that it can handle.
